MagicalPosted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: The terrain and location, so peaceful and reflective
Cons: A bit disappointed they didnt have any bicycles for children to hire or guide. Which we have enjoyed with other hotels in the area.
Location: If you are cultured then you should know about Ubud and the aura it transcends. Ubud in Bali doesnt need to be advertise its unique culture.
We have been to this area before, and this hotel doesnt let you down. In terms of luxury, hospitality and also amazing view and terrain. Of lush tropical forest, set in the river valley, with distant hills and volcanos.

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundingsPosted Mar 28, 2015
Our first stay in Ubud, our only regret not staying a few more days. Staff were warm and friendly even over and above the usual Balinese hospitality. Facilities are immaculately presented, and there's a forest view from virtually anywhere in the resort in including restaurant. Our room was great with balcony and in-room spa. We took the village and forest tour (organised by hotel) down to the river which was a great experience. Overall highly recommended.

Long weekend in BaliPosted Mar 12, 2015 on Hotels
Was staying for two nights at this nice hotel outside Ubud. The service of the staff was excellent and they were all very eager to accommodate our needs and demands. The main restaurant has a magnificent view during sunset and the menu and food was good. One has access to buggies with drivers whenever you want to o somewhere within the hotel area. A bit of the drawback was the rather long drive to Ubud center, around 10mins. The hotel though provides free transport back and forth but it stops at 5pm. Taxi back is easy to find and not to expensive. The hotel offers a number of free activities which is both great and needed is you stay a bit longer period.

Amazing Place & Outstanding Service!!!Posted Mar 8, 2015 on Hotels
Excellent Service. The butlers are the best, hotel surrounding is super nice and so relaxing. Super good spa, the masseuse know what they are doing. We just faced a problem with the air conditioner in the room, the changed our room quickly. Would have been better, if they provided buffet breakfast.

5 star all the way. Exceptional experiencePosted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: living in a beautiful planted jungle. We were treated like royalty 100%
Cons: it was fabulous
Location: Tours were as easy to do from here as they were from Sanur
Everything, everyone and the place itself were wonderful. Left with a greater sense of self confidence and peacefulness. Pure joy in experiencing the surroundings and the views - to die for

A gem in UbudPosted Feb 3, 2015 on Hotels
We had an outstanding stay at Kupu Kupu. The service is quite exceptional - staff remembered our names from the time we checked in, including some special dietary requirements. The rooms are beautiful, shown to us by our "personal butler". Very comfortable beds and high quality towels and free toiletries. We stayed on the third floor and looked out over the forest - amazing view!. The only down side was the pool just above us - when people swam at night this was a bit disturbing. The hotel should consider limiting swimming to not later than 9pm. Buggy carts transport you around the property. On our first night we had a drink in the bar whihc has the most fantastic view - don't miss the sunset. We ate at the La View restaurant -not cheap but good value (except the wine which is quite expensive). Interesting menu, served impeccably. The location of the hotel on the outskirts of Ubud might present a problem although there is a hotel shuttle, last return from town is at 5.30. We were 4 people so we hired a driver for a very reasonable price which gave us the flexibility of looking around the area. There is lots to do - temples, Barong Dance show and of course shopping. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough - pure luxury in a romantic and exotic setting. This was our last stay in a 3 week tour and definitely was worth it.
