“A real gem”

What a lovely hotel - just up from Jimbaran beach. The room was extremely well appointed, very comfortable, and the staff were extremely helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

“Outstanding service, great rooms and pool.”

This is an awesome boutique hotel very close to the Ayana, Four Seasons and Intercontinental in Jimbaran. The service is outstanding, and the rooms very nice with fabulous design. Manage your expectations though, this is NOT a resort. It is not by the beach, and it does not have a large premises with acres of green grass in a poetic setting. It is in a sleepy village, a 5-7 minute walk from a public beach (albeit literally adjacent/spitting distance to the Four Seasons' beach) where Kupu Kupu has their own restaurant/bar and some other facilities. It has a really nice pool perfect for romantic midnight dips as well as lounging the day away in the Bali sun, but this is on a rooftop where there is a great atmosphere. There is a small shopping mall of about 10 shops/restos attached to the hotel. This is great as it offers 3 additional dining options without leaving the building plus a bookstore and a spa. It is perfect for a chilled holiday for people not hung-up on being on a beach or in a traditional resort. Perfect also for those who know Bali well and looking to spend a chilled few days together. Great food, great service. Ideal in its price range. The manager is also awesome.

“Pretty hotel but ...”

The hotel room was impressive at first - we had our own "villa", which had two floors, and a bath tub in the middle of the floor. However, the layout of the room was not very convenient. For example, the bathroom is on the ground floor and the bed is on the first floor. Going to the bathroom at night was a pain - and sometimes dangerous, given that the light switches were also inconveniently located (my husband hurt himself walking down the stairs at night...) The location is also not great. The best thing going for it is that it is near the Southern fish warung (8 min walk from hotel). The Jimbaran beach is also 8 min walk and is a nice calm beach, but nothing spectacular. If you want to just lie on a beach with white sand and not care about having any waves, then it is a good place. Otherwise, there is NOTHING nearby. Going to Kuta or Seminyak is not as close as it may seem on the map since there is the airport in the middle and the traffic is always a disaster. It can take about 30 minutes to go to Kuta from our hotel by taxi. There is a pretty pool which is shared by all the guests in the villa. It is very narrow and long so there isn't much room for people to swim (unless if you are the only one in the pool). The breakfast was rather uninspired and the room service menu was extremely boring (though not bad. There was not a single Indonesian/Balinese dish).

“Think Twice”

OK.. Normally I never write about my experiences.. but.... This hotel is definitely not what it looks like.. Nothing bad about the staff.. They are great. But the hotel.....?? The place is close to the main attractions of Jimbaran Beach, which is nice. But... Beachfront??? No way.. Beach is 8 minutes walk along a busy street. Hotel itself is situated at the main (very busy) road. Private Beach? Yes.. But there is nothing there, so you're better of at the beach restaurants. (plenty of them). Internet in the room?? No.. Coming next june i was told. Warm water for a shower?? Sometimes yes.., but mostly not warm enough. This could be caused by the simple fact that if all the room guests start taking a shower, there is not enough warm water for everybody. The most irritating for me was the fact that you enter the room by the pool area. The room here has large glass panels. The opposite room wall has the toilet and the shower so no windows there. Specially during rainfall, everybody (other guests and personel), pass within an inch of your glass panels and have a good look at your room upto the shower included. Offcourse you could keep the curtains closed, but this darkens the room quite a bit. Also found that there is only one fire escape.. The other possibility was locked. For the rest.. the builing is very stilish decorated. And, as i said before.. the staff is very helpfull/ friendly (like allways in Bali) good luck with your choice.
