Great resort...Posted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: Pool area, the dining room. Everything was just great.
Location: The resort is located in a remote area. It is the perfect location for a quiet, romantic get-away. Not too far from Uluwatu Temple.
It was our first hotel in Bali for our Honeymoon. Hotel staff was amazing. Beautiful resort, very large rooms. We were offered a complimentary upgrade to an executive suite on our second night. The dining room has a great menu, breakfast was excellent. Great memories.

Not as pleasing as I thought it would bePosted Aug 6, 2013
Cons: As above hotel review/experience
Location: A bit further out from the commotion. But nice and peaceful.
The hotel is not maintained well. The building are chipping away. The kettle in the kitchen of the room cannot be plug in the power socket in the kitchen. You have to plug it in the power socket in the living room. The condition of the suite room is lovely. It is spacious. However if you are looking for coziness you don't get it from the hotel. The breakfast is beyond dreadful. The food is not fresh and the quality of the food is very poor. However the dishes ordered through room service is great. Sometimes the staff doesn't realise the importance of guest requests. Overall average experience. Will I come back?! Given the same service and standards, No.

Le Grande OverviewPosted Mar 7, 2013
Pros: The staff were all awesome!!!!!!!
Cons: The location in relation to beaches and the overall tied look of many of the facilities!
Location: Terrible if you are looking for beaches or the husstle and bustle of Kuta
The hotel was a long way from anywhere, unless you like golf. It is one of a few hotels on a resort that never got finished, hence it is a little in the wilderness! This was fine for us as we hired a car for the entire two weeks so getting around was fine! If we were relying on taxis and the hotel shuttle bus we would have been limited and it would have been expensive! The staff were all fantastic and could not be faulted. The hotel just seemed to be tired and desperately in need of a makeover! The room we were given was pretty ordinary and I recommend upgrading to a suite, we were charged an additional $30us per night and it made a huge difference to how we have graded our stay and the quality of our holiday! The food, particularly the breakfast was a little ordinary and catered more for Asian clientele, the evening menu was reasonably priced but lacked much choice, however Jimbaran beach was about a 10 min taxi drive which offered alfresco dinning on the beach! If I was truthful I would probably suggest giving this hotel a miss unless you have a car or simpily want a retreat away from everything including the beach!

Very elegent getawayPosted Sep 13, 2012
Pros: Pina Coladas - awesome bar staff
Cons: It seemed like a long distance from anywhere
Location: Beautiful - take the time to get out and see some of the peninsula. It is awesome
Le Grande was a lovely hotel but it was just a little out of the way. I had a deluxe room which was massive! The room was beautifully clean and very spacious. I got there early and the room wasn't ready yet. While they got me into the room very quickly I notice a few of the little things were missing. (laundry bags, price lists etc) Nothing major but a bit of hassle to organise. If there was a drawback to the room it would be the aircon. Worked beautifully but very noisy. I didn't notice it through the day but I did at night. Felt like the room was vibrating, might be an overreaction because its so quiet down there but it did keep me up Staff were lovely although some of them really struggled with English. Bar staff were fabulous - they make a mean Pina Colada B-) Finding tourist information did prove to be a bit of a challenge as some staff seemed to be confused about what services were available, prices etc. Nevertheless they tried hard to please and nothing seemed to be to much trouble. I recommend going for a massage here, they were awesome. Especially when followed by a couple of Pina Colada's by the pool Getting around from here did seem to be a bit more difficult than in other parts of Bali. I recommend booking a car & driver to take you to the sights. Although do your research and be sure of where you want to go. However if you just want to chill out for a few days, play a bit of golf and get away from it all Le Grande is a great place.

Le Grande, not quite so grand.Posted Jul 23, 2012
Pros: Most of the visitors to the hotel were out on "day tours" so the hotel was mostly deserted during the day.
Cons: Buffet breakfast was not nice food for our tastes if any food was left as it was not kept hot and often not much food available
This hotel would be best suited for honeymooners, as a family it made our time in Bali difficult as there was little to do for our teenage children at the hotel. Traveling was also a problem as the hotel is quite isolated compared with most others. We had many issues with toilets backing up and blocking and found it difficult to phone out as the hotel has limited fixed phone and network coverage. The buffert breakfast was provided to cater for the "Chineese" visitors and whenever food was available was mostly not suited for our western tastebuds. Overall we had a nice time but were dissapointed at our choice.

Clean spacious room, poor service, bad locationPosted May 31, 2012
Pros: Nice big clean rooms.
Cons: Location, poor service, air-con not working
The hotel staff was nice, but quite nonresponsive of requests made-even requests that were essential and/or standard. 1. We were in a suite and had three people in our room. We requested an extra blanket and pillow earlier in the day. It never came. After three additional calls & two hours later, the blanket arrived. However, there were no pillows available. 2. We also never received hand towels our entire stay (not a big deal) but when an additional third towel was requested I had to physically go downstairs and get one (also not a big deal). Even then, the reception was not helpful. I had to rome around the halls to find housekeeping and convince them to give me a towel. 3. The air conditioning in the bedroom of the suite did not work. I complained several times, asked for a fan, etc. Nothing ever happened. 4. Service at the pool was also non existent unless you walked around the hotel to find someone to assist you. 5. Lastly, the location of this hotel is quite poor. It takes approximately 10 minutes to get to the main road. (longer to a grocery store) Tack on 30-90 minutes for any nearby attraction as the traffic in Bali is horrendous. You can walk to the beach in 25-30 minutes apparently. This is not a complaint against the staff. This is just an observation that should be noted.

Nice hotel. Rooms were clean. Restaurant was good. Pool was good. No gym. A 30 minute drive into the hotel from the airport if no traffic. If you are looking for a place to have peace and quiet, this is it. If you are looking for proximity to shopping, beach, etc, this is not it. A nice hotel.

Le Grande is GrandPosted Jan 17, 2012
Pros: The staff and their friendly smiles and really wanting to do everything for you, relaxing atmosphere and tasty food.
Cons: There's a tiny communication barrier, but be patient and you'll get there
Location: Tropical and relaxing
The staff at the hotel are amazingly friendly and the food is clean and tasty. The surroundings are incredibly peaceful and ideal for the relaxing holiday away from the madness of reality. The hotel has a free daily shuttle to Kuta, Nusa Dua and Dreamland which helps with the taxi fares as the hotel is a little bit out of the way from everything else. Highly recommend the stay for a relaxing time away!
