Perfect for a relaxing holiday

Posted Dec 14, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff...private villas...comfortable beds and pillows...relaxing ambience
Cons: I'm struggling to think of anything...and I'm quite picky!
Location: A few minutes walk away from the Main Street in Sanur with all the restaurants and spas
We had a beautiful one bedroom villa with a private pool and complete privacy. Lovely little garden and outside setting with a day bed. The staff were wonderful..very happy and friendly and we just couldn't fault it. Just off the Main Street of Sanur they have cars to drive you in and out but really it's only a short walk. You can eat breakfast in your villa or on the hotel terrace. We used the terrace as it was nice to interact with the staff. Lovely choice of breakfast and will cook to your specification. Beautifully quiet.

Great Relaxing Getaway

Posted Aug 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
I stayed there for 4 days in July and was generally satisfied with the hotel. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was served daily at my villa which was very convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful and always serve with a smile. The only grouch I had was that the villa was too close to the neighbors who had dogs and chicken. These were very noisy early in the morning.

Great villas poor location.

Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Location
Location: If you don't mind walking past local roaming dogs for 300 meters the location is quite good.
The first day of our stay was not good in that the room cleaners left the fridge door open with the obvious consequences, one main course was provided from room service instead of two as ordered for dinner, the missing meal didn't eventuate but we were offered free two ice cream desserts as compensation. I spoke to the general manager the following day and he was most concerned and guaranteed an improvement which generally did happen with only a couple of minor problems thereafter...no tea bags,no toilet paper renewal. The staff really are beautiful people, most courteous and so gentle, the cooked breakfast was always freshly made and excellent quality. The major problem though is that the villas are down a narrow side road about 300 meters long, a stretch of road poorly lit and with its fair share of local dogs which provide an uncomfortable experience for every journey. The villas themselves are superb, private pool and quite spacious. The villas advertise a fitness centre but don't inform you that it's at a nearby hotel and the villas will organize transport there and back if you so wish...not really ideal. Would we return? Well we have had two visits first for 5 nights and the second for 8 nights but no not again, the negatives regarding its side street location outweigh its staff pluses.

Excellent Service

Posted Jun 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was our first time in Bali and we were on our honeymoon, we stayed at the Mahagiri Villas for 4 nights. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly and the shuttle was available to drop us off and pick us up at different restaurants in the Sanur area. On our last day at Mahagiri, they arranged (in lieu of the airport shuttle) to drop us off at the hotel we were staying at afterwards, which was in Ubud - about an hour away. Also, the movie selection in the room was better than most of the other villas we have stayed in so far in Bali. Would definitely stay at this hotel again if we were in Sanur.

Lovely ambience

Had a lovely 3 days stay. The villas are beautiful with great swimming pool. Overall a very nice experience. A few minor maintenances need to be done. Would like a few more light fixtures in the villa, so the nights are not very dull. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Unbelievable quality and service

Mahagiri represents the very best in private & secluded luxury combined with attentive and responsive service. The villas are exactly as depicted on the internet and provided us with the perfect setting to enjoy our stay. The staff were courteous and friendly and bent over backwards to meet our every need. The location of the villas would be the only drawback as they are not on the beach, and access is via a few back alleys, however, this was never a problem, as the free on-call shuttle service is available at a moments notice to take you wehrever you wish to go, from early morning until 11pm at night. We loved every minute of our stay, and can't wait to return. Mahagiri for us!

Pleasant but nothing too special.

Pros: Very new buildings in good repair. Would we go again? Yes we would and are in fact returning next month.
Cons: Planes overhead and located down a narrow back street. Staff need a bit more training.
Location: Close to all amenities and short walk to beach.
Nice villa complex within easy walk of local shopping and beach however it is down a side lane inhabited by numerous dogs which make the walk a little uneasy especially at night. The villas are under the flight path and sitting outside in the evening is a bit noisy at times.the staff are like most Balinese very friendly and courteous but I feel they are a bit undertrained, room service is ok but the food is not much better than ordinary and they often got our order wrong. there was no gym which was disappointing as my wife likes to do a workout each day..the brochure said there was a gym but I dont think it has been built yet we compensated with long pleasant walk along the beach.
