Excellent service
The hotel was located very centrally...could walk to grocery, atm restaurants and spa. Staff was amazing and rooms were comfortably with good WiFi....definitely recommend!

Nice Hotel Close walking distance to the 3D Museum
The hotel is not flash (exterior) as the photographs (be warned) but if you're looking for spacious and comfy rooms this is your best bet for prize and location. Ideal for families I reakon or group travellers.

Amazing Staff but hotel in need of some minor TLC
Staff where amazing the entire time during the trip however the room (404) has several small maintenance issue that need attention however nothing that will effect your stay greatly. Staff suprised us with a birthday cake on my birthday :)

Great hotel, apartment was clean and comfortable, staff excellant and helpful, breakfast was excellant and very filling, about 20 min to walk to anywhere central so if you want to be close to beach not the place to stay but great if you want to experience holiday away from tourists

The 3 bedroom apartment was a good size for my family of 5. We had a few problems over our stay and the staff fixed them very quickly. Breakfast was fabulous which was included in the very cheap price. The pool area was beautiful and hardly anyone was ever in it. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Deserves more than 3 stars
I travelled around Bali and this was by far my favourite. The location wasn't amazing (not terrible though), but the staff were friendly and helpful! The room was clean on arrival and the cleaner would ask us if he could clean each day. Breakfast wasn't a buffet as advertised, but we did get one meal from their breakfast menu as well as a bread/pastry basket, fruit, coffee and juice! My only negative feedback was the advertosement for the free shuttle; there always seemed to be a new excuse as to why there was no shuttle running. I had to be quite persistent to finally get a free shuttle into Kuta (must find own way back). This aside, the hotel is wonderful and you will feel safe and comfortably accommodated at Sara!

Outsourced laundry service has individual pricing, not charged by kilo. Wet hand-washed smalls had brown stains from laundry rack, which needs painting. No a/c in Dining Rm for b/fst, so ate and ran.....

a great space for a family
We loved the space available to us as a family. 3 bedrooms and a generous living area was fantastic. The staff were very feiendly and they had good cafe coffee. We only ate breakfast but it was well presented and delicious. Free afternoon snacks and coffe were great (mixture of local and euro snacks). The pool area was clean and tranquil. We enjoyed having breakfast then jumping in for a dip. Our room faced a main road so noise was a problem early in morn and late at night but we got used to it. While we were a way out of main action (about a 20 minute walk past interesting stores) it was no problem getting around as taxis aplenty. Overal we really enjoyed our stay and were a little sad to leave.

Stayed in penthouse suite, on arrival water all over floor, main bathroom had strong smell of mould. We stayed 6 nites never saw pool clean, they did fogging for mozzies, which were a lot of. Very busy street with workers travelling to work. Taxi needed or 30 minutes walk to beach

Sara Residence was very comfortable
Sara Residence was a very comfortable and economical stay. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Located about 100m from a mini mart (if you turn left out of the hotel) for daily supplies. Circle K across the road if you can't be bothered walking the extra 100m. About a 7-10 minute leisurely walk from the restaurant and shopping areas and a further 5mins or so to the beach and more restaurants. Staff were very helpful. Kids enjoyed the pool for a cool down. There were mosquitoes in that area that requires your use of insect repellant. The hotel needed to get a pest control man in to fumigate the hotel whilst we were there. Breakfast was good. Toast, jams, fruit and your choice of a full American breakfast, eggs (cooked to your preference), Indonesian (Nasi goreng and mie goreng). Overall a very pleasant stay nd recommended for families.

Very spacious apartments. Cleaned every day. Staff very helpful, pleasant and obliging when help was required. Only down fall was the location-a short taxi ride was required everywhere we went-only because we have young kids who can't walk very far in the heat. Pool was also quite small.

We paid for the three bed penthouse. This is no penthouse. Beds are ok, room ok although the couch was very stained. Size of the room good. Problem, arrive and walk in to the overwelming smell of sewerage. The stench in the room was foul. You don't expect to pay for a penthouse and have to put up the smell of the hotels sewerage. We worked out it was mostly coming in from the main bathroom and got worse when the toilet was flushed. We would have avoided using the toilet there if the one in the main bedroom was working well. The water was running continuously and it did not flush easily so we turned the water off at the wall to stop the continued flushing noise. We could not use the bath as the water was a trikle and was warm not hot. By the time it was starting to fill it was cold. The second day we had no hot water at all and then the water to the room completely cut out. We spoke to reception who checked it and said it was a pump problem. It took a few hours to get enough water to shower, although it was hot once fixed. On the third day we were told the slow trickle of water was due to government water supply and it was in the process of being looked into. The breakfast was ok but with limited table service. You get your own coffee, juice, toast, fruit. This was the most expensive of four places we stayed on this trip yet it was the least enjoyable. If the room was cheap I would not complain about the issues but it wasn't overly cheap. Wouldn't stay there again

A beautiful and quiet stay at Sara residence.
Myself and 3 teenagers were welcomed with open arms at Sara residence. The staff went above and beyond to help me make my time and stay there well worth the trip. Special mention to Mariyono for organising airport pick up at a godly hour and special mention to Fera for all her assistance and making sure out stay was comfortable above means. Beautiful surroundings and wonderful staff to make the holiday complete. Thank you very much xoxo

It is a good place to stay particularly with a very supportive hotel staff. They go out of the way to make your stay comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast as well. But they do not provide lunch and dinner and the location is not good enough to dine out.

Great place to stay. We had 2 adults and 3 kids. The room had 3 queen beds so one of the kids wanted to sleep on the couch. We didn't use the kitchen. A great breaky was provided every morning. A bit hard for taxis to find but when we said on jl nukula they found it ok. McDonalds only a 5 minute walk away and a few other eating places. Practically next door is a supermarket. Great place for a family stay in Bali.

About me: me and hubby travelling with 3 kids 2, 7 & 8. Good: the room is clean, the bed is comfy, we took 2 rm apartment however we decided to put the 2 older kids on sofa and we moved the extra mattress out. There is a balcony but no view. Below is the pool and in front of our balcony is a piece of vacant land. The breakfast is simple. The place is more like b&b than svc apartment. It's service is good and fast. There is a 24-7 convenience store across the road. The place is quiet. I like the peace. Bad: - we have to take a cab to nearest beach (doesn't matter much cos we are travelling with kids anyway & they tire easily furthermore the roads are busy) - The lobby has no air con. So when we eat, it gets hot & stuffy. - in the room There is a kitchen counter but no stove. Only electric kettle,fridge & sink. - But the TV channel has the kids program like cartoon network. - The wifi is inconsistent, though. Overall is ok. But if u want somewhere more convenient and more closer to the happening areas, have to pay more and opt for beachfront like hard rock, etc.

room was very nice., but we booked for 6 people for 7 nights cause after 3rd night we would be joined by my wife, her sister and 2 kids ,when we got there there was one double and one single bed , when we informed them of this the response was suddenly not good english until my wife who is indo. but doesnt look it interviened and then it was bad luck for us as fully booked. After3 nights we had no choise but to move hotels with no refund or remorse at all, so we moved and had to pay again, surrounding area is terrible ,no footpaths so to speak so you take your chances on the road . Only convenience store is close but we noticed underground carpark was a green swamp alive with mozzies as was our room , Iv been to bali dozens of times over the years and will continue to stay in beautiful nusa dua as i always have and not try to save a couple of bucks NOT WORTH IT.

The hotel exceed our initial expectation. We found that the staff was particulary helpful and ever so friendly. The room were in excellent condition. Ut was clean and well maintained. Our only comment was the quality of breakfast that was prepared. Hotel F&B manager could be more creative with the menu rather than basic toast & cereal breakfast

The hotel itself and the rooms are good. We had a couple of maintenance issues (leaking aircon, water flow, power failures) and the rooms could do with a bit more attention (e.g. the room safe deposit box was not bolted down). We had a 3 bedroom penthouse and stayed for six nights. Our water supply failed most mornings, meaning that we could not take morning showers. The power supply to our room tripped several times in one evening. The location is fine if you don't mind getting taxis everywhere, but you may not like to walk out of the front door to the beach or shops because there are no pavements and the road is very busy. This would be OK if you are a couple or single traveller, but if you have children it could be a problem.

Value for Money - Great Staff
We had difficulty finding a hotel to accommodate seperate bedrooms for our 15yr old son and 10yr old daughter. So we booked the Penthouse suite and was amazed at the cost and space of the rooms. We ourselves had an ensuite bedroom which was lovely. The staff were wonderful and very friendly with a relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast mainly consisted of egg/rice/stir fry so this could be improved with more variety to include toast (which they did provide) butter and jam and maybe cereals for children. Our room was 403 and we were not bothered by the traffic noise because the beds were so comfy with great pillows however some parts of the room could do with small repairs (tap/cupboard door). Also the mirrored door of the ensuite was a bit dusty but overall the cleanliness was good and the staff were always happy to clean at your request without intrusion. As for the location our walk to the beach was a bit stressful due to the surrounding neighborhood which is in the process of development (rubbish dumped with unpleasant smells) but once on the beach you could easily walk to Kuta. My suggestion would be to operate a twice daily beach transfer to drop off 10am and collect 4pm with plenty of time to dip in the pool. The pool was lovely and clean and the sun was on the pool all day until about 3pm. The staff played a huge part in our enjoyment of staying at the Sara Residence and should be praised. We would happily stay at the Sara Residence again and would recommend it.

Very nice apartment style accommodation
We had two families staying here, one family of 5 in the penthouse and one family of 3 on the next level down. The rooms were both very nice, very clean with great decor. The view, the busy main road and the location however were not the best. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We had a small baby with us who they all adored and would take turns holding which was great as it meant we could eat our breakfast. A high chair would have been good but we got by thanks to the staff. Breakfast was the same everyday with about 5 meals to choose from. I think we were all a bit over the menu by the end of our stay. Some fruit would have nice I think.

Relax & go with the Bali flow...
The hotel was great for a 3star hotel. The staff were helpful, friendly and polite. They made our stay pleasant. Anytime we needed assistance they were happy to oblige. The breakfast menu is basic but enough to sustain you. Anything else you want you can buy from the local supermarket 5min walk away. Staff can point it out. The rooms are well a/c, cleaned daily and the big bed was so comfy. The s/pool is big enough, the boys loved it. We had no pests in our rooms, we simply kept the doors shut. Overall, our experience was good. We were happy. Tips for the first time traveler to bali... Ensure taxi drivers have their meter on or else they charge more than short trips are worth &always bargain when shopping. Always halve whatever the initial price is. They expect it & it's part of the fun. And don't forget to spoil yourself at a spa. So worth it!

The service by Sara Residence is excellent. The quality of the hotel is so so, would call it an apartment instead of a hotel. There are ants everywhere, but it's not much of a problem. The wifi is detectable, but its pretty slow. If you are looking for a quiet gataway, then this is the place to stay as it is located in a stretch of road that doesn't have much activities to do.Oh ya, the residence is just next to the main road, can get pretty noisy.

My first visit to Bali from 28 to 30 June 2013.
The hotel is reasonabbly good and quiet except for intermittent sounds of motorcycle ( as I am staying in the room facing the street ). The hotel reception staff could not adequately provide good information on Bali's places of interest for someone who is new to Bali like me. However, they provided brochures that are informative that assisted me in getting around and explore the streets of Kuta. The breakfast is OK but they should look into provide lunch or dinner on order basis since they do not have an outlet / restaurant. Generally I have a pleasant stay in Sara Residence. Terima kasih.

Pleasant stay
Its a small hotel, about 14 rooms, 11- 2Bed room suites and 3 - 3 Bed Room suites. We were put up in a 2 bed room suite which was quite comfortable, except the Air conditioning in the 2nd room was a bit less. We complained about the same. The engineer could not resolve the problem instantly and hence the Manager offered to shift us to another Room, which we declined. The Breakfast is the same for all days. We stayed for 7 nights and so it got a bit boring. Wish they could have more choice for vegetarians. The location is quite good, in a quiet area and not too far from Seminyak or legian shopping areas. The Staff were quite helpful and got us a taxi when it was raining. They have a small pool and it is better if you opt for the rooms on the ground floor for better access to the pool. All in all a pleasant experience. They do not have a spa, but can organise a masseur on request. there is also a convenience store nearby which helps.
