Overpriced and OverratedPosted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: Cocktails were nice and generous size
Cons: The Spa did not have a Consultation form which normally is completed prior to all treatments. Lacked customer service all the way.
Location: Potato Head was literally next door which was good and Biku was across the road, great brekky place.
I am bitterly disappointed with my experience at this hotel. The staff were uncooperative in every sense of the word. First of all, the Pool Side room we had was extremely small and not worth the price per night. Every morning from 7am we were woken from up by screaming kids at the pool , which unfortunately our room was opposite the pool side and this was the hotels fault for allowing the pool to be open from 7am, ridiculous. When we complained, they said we could be upgraded for an extra $40 USD per night. Another major annoyance, we couldn't make any local calls to book restaurants or to contact our friends staying in another hotel. The line would just cut out and when we called the front desk to help, they just kept saying that the numbers weren't working or something was wrong with their lines. In the end, we had to take out our mobile phone and make an international call to see if the calls would work. What do you know? They worked, no thanks to the staff at Samara and a hefty international call later via the mobile phone. Oh and every attempt we tried to make local calls without luck, they charged us for when checking out and when we disputed it they made a big drama of contacting their IT dept to verify it. Ohh and another thing. I got the Hot Stone Massage at the Spa and I noticed immediately the stones were sizzling hot and certainly not relaxing or pleasant and ultimately I worked out of there with 2 big circle marks on my groin area where they placed the stones

Semara Resort & Spa, Seminyak - wonderful!Posted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: The staff are absolutely lovely
Cons: No beach access
Location: Located almost next to Potato Head, you can use this for beach access which wasn't a problem
A beautiful resort in Seminyak, the Semara is a great place to relax. The staff are simply lovely, always smiling and happy to help. The grounds are kept beautifully and the pool - well, the pool which must be almost 50m - is a real treat. Do yourself a favour and take advantage of the upgrade on your arrival. From Poolside room to Executive room was definitely worth the extra A$40 per day but the bonus is that they give you back this money in credit to spend on anything at the resort, food, drinks, spa treatments, etc. Well worth it. Would definitely go back to Semara. The service was lovely and would recommend this to couples, families, solo travellers.

Beautiful resort, amazing food and very staff!Posted Jul 30, 2013
Pros: Everything. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in Bali and not overly expensive either.
Cons: DVD players in rooms. Though we rented one across the street for only $4 AUD/night
Location: Walking distance to ku da te, la lucciola and potato head. 5000 Rupiah taxi to seminyak square. Perfect!
Absolutely divine. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and the rooms were beautiful. Not much more to add, just amazing

Loved the location of this lovely Resort....Posted Jul 22, 2013
Pros: Yoga classes and gym on site.
Cons: The spa prices were a bit high for our liking.
Location: Perfect location for the Seminyak area. Close to lots of famous restaurants and shopping.
Only stayed the one night before moving on to Ubud but would have loved to stay longer. Would have loved to try the yoga class. Hubby used the gym. Loved the location, and loved the fact that there was an adult only pool as well as a family pool. We had booked a poolside room but were given a free upgrade to an executive suite. This room was enormous and we loved it! Used our free 20 minute massage very enjoyable.

Will go backPosted Jul 22, 2013
Pros: The Spa and the rooms
Cons: Ignorant people
Location: Bit out of the way but taxis cheap enough
The hotel was lovely, the bedroom & bathroom was great size and very clean. Treat yourselves to a spa treatment, this is fantastic and the staff throughout the resort were great. The reception staff and customer service staff couldn't have been more helpful. The only problem we encountered was the people in the Presidential Suites who thought that the tranquil pool outside their suites was for their nannies to entertain their kids (all 6 of them), whilst they sat and drank. (sometimes in the pool). We didn't complain to the management as there was probably little they could have done, and to be honest they should have had more respect for people around them. Overall I would go again anytime.

Good value. Nice hotel. Great location. Great staff Rooms need DVD player and iPod dock. Other than that no complaints. Clean. Modern. Didn't use cubby house much as our kids were a bit older (11, 10 and 6) but a great idea and nice bonus.

Great Location in SeminyakPosted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: Adult poolside area at the back of the complex was a great place to relax. Location to everything in Seminyak!
Cons: The main pool area is very noisy with children, even heard from our room, we had to ask to be moved to a new Executive Suite away from the pool.
Location: Perfectly placed right in the heart of the Beachside Seminyak establishments, W, Ku De Ta, Potato Head all within walking or 50c cab ride away.
Hotel is fantastically located close to everything in Seminyak, especially the sunset cocktails at Ku De Ta, Potato Head and the W. It is child friendly, so if a couple I would suggest asking for a suite at the end of the complex away from the children's pool area if you are looking for peace and quiet. There is an adult pool gazebo area at the back which is perfect for couples and those wanting to chill. The food is excellently priced, grounds very clean, a great hotel in the heart of Seminyak!

Heaven!Posted May 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a wonderful time at Semara. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were exceptionally maintained with modern, comfortable furnishings. The hotel facilities were excellent and the restaurants had extensive food and beverage menus which were reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in Seminyak.
