Nice, comfortable hotel/resort with private beach

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: The hotel was very good, with excellent staff and location. Inclusive breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Rooms probably require an update in terms of a freshen up.
Location: Bali Collection was nearby-this is an excellent choice for restaurants and shopping. The access to a private beach was great-water sports right there.
The staff at the Sol Beach House Benoa were very friendly, and accommodating. They looked after our family very well - nothing was too much trouble. The location and it's proximity to restaurants and shopping at the Bali Collection was fantastic.

Pros: everything .The staff were exceptional
Cons: nothing
Location: we enjoyed cycling in front of the resorts and going to Bali Collection which is within walking distance albeit quite far but there is a free shuttle
I'm very fussy and was pleasantly surprised with the resort .The service was outstanding ,food excellent and everything clean and well kept .The staff made a real effort to cater to our every need .There was plenty of variety in the food and entertainment .Each night the main dinner venue changed -sometimes on the grass under the palms, on the beach ,or around the pool or indoors .Great for honeymooners.

Nice hotel on the beach

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: Pool beach running path all along the beach. I am a runner so this was great. Gardens. Lobby bad bar were nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Food. Facilities need a bit of an upgrade. Definitely spa - services and facility poor. The gym needs an upgrade and better air conditioning.
Location: The mall - Bali Collection has nIce stuff with good prices. Hire a driver for the day and go to Ubud. We used Drivers with Distinction.
My teenage daughter and I stayed at this hotel for a week. During our stay we used almost all of the facilities. We took the kyack out for a paddle, rode the bikes along the beach path, played darts, shuffleboard, swam in the pool and had a facial. The staff were very nice including changing our room when we asked. Initially we were on the bottom floor and it smelled moldy. Moved to top floor overlooking the garden which was great. I would not recommend the spa as the services are poor. Also be aware that this resort works on your buying the all inclusive package which doubles the rate. We did this as we wanted an easy vacation. Items within the hotel are expensive compared to researching your own options for example hiring a driver. We loved the dinners on the beach/gardens which were done up so pretty. The entertainment was entertaining however the food could be improved. I would rate the food as a 3 out of 5 for taste and selection. Overall it was a pleasant holiday stay and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Superb Value For Money

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: Beautiful grounds.
Cons: Better in room internet reception.
Location: Located right on the beach, outside the of hotels things are a bit lacking. But go by the free bus to Bali Collection, a great shopping experience
An older hotel but no worse for it. It sit's right on the beach, has a beautiful, pool and garden area. The entertainment is very good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are roomy and clean. It's a three story hotel, nicely designed in a beautiful red stone. The Entrance is very beautiful in a typically Balinese style. There are I am sure nicer hotels in the area, but not at this price point. We did not do the 'All Inclusive" package as we like to explore further afield and therefore we would have just thrown our money away, but if all you wish to do on the holiday is laze by the pool or play on the beach with it's numerous activities and you intend to eat and drink at the hotel well then knock yourselves out!. We also did not try the hotel food and drink options so we cannot comment on them. We would happily stay here again.

Spending 3 nights here were an awesome experience for me & my wife. A perfect place to relax, unwind, enjoy the calmness & beauty of peaceful beach. Hotel staff are very friendly. They even arranged the breakfast box for our morning hike to Mt.Batur at 2:30am! 24 hours convinient store & a seafood restaurant are just across the street. If you want a place just want to relax & escape from hectic Kuta, this is the place!

Melia benoa sol beach house nusa dua

The hotel was nice, compared to some others in the area it lacked a bit of luxury and higher prices for food and drinks then other places close by, the lack of bali's own bintang beer was also a turn off, otherwise the closeness of water sports and the appearance of the rooms were remarkable, even if the mattresses are slightly uncomfortable, would only recommend this place if your not used to 5 star luxury

So-So Hotel

Posted May 29, 2014
Pros: Nice staff, always smiling and gracious. Spa therapists were terrific. Room was clean and nice.
Cons: Need food/drink service on the beach, add robes to the rooms, need better food, update spa, clean up area
Location: Open market with very aggressive shopkeepers - skip it! Go to the Bali Collection (near Melia hotel) and shop there, nicer stores - nothing else!
This hotel has a sister hotel nearby, called the Melia Hotel (much better choice). I stayed in both hotels and this Beach House hotel was just not as great. No robes in the room, no drink/food service at the pool or beach, you had to go to the restaurant (only 1 outside to choose from and it was an overpriced buffet). The spa was nice, the staff there were very good, but the rooms really needed some paint and some "zen" added to it - very bare, no pretty flowers or anything. The breakfast buffet was good, but the rest of the food was very blaaa. Also the location wasn't great, you weren't in the good section, you were in an area where you couldn't go out and walk around, very busy traffic and no real sidewalks. So PASS ON THIS HOTEL and go stay at the Melia instead, beautiful hotel, great staff, on the beach, tons of good food and a great safe location.

Lovely Hotel with Private Beach & Nice Pool!

Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: 1. Big rooms, clean rooms 2. Having a private beach 3. Serves decent breakfast 4. Proximity to airport and Kuta
Location: We were able to get to ubud, uluwatu, seminyak, kintamani and tanah lot. These places are 2-3 hours of hotel. We also played water sports at kuta.
This hotel is lovely and definitely a Balinese design! The serving of a welcome cool drink to all guests is a relief after a long flight. With rooms so close to its private beach, a romantic stroll at night is definitely a must. The staff are friendly and helped recommend places and drivers for getting around. The breakfast is decent and the room is spacious, clean with wifi that extends all the way to the pool. Was able to have quiet time beside the pool relaxing with some internet surfing after a swim. They have 2 restaurants one is where you have the breakfast and the other is an Italian that serves really good food with friendly service. It is also value for money and not expensive. Directly opposite the hotel is a convenience store and a spa massage offering at only $7/usd. The hotel massage was fully booked so we went opposite. So the hotel is at a really good spot. We noted that there were also other hotel guests who have discover this good spa, the massage is perfect for me. Overall a great stay at a reasonable price.

Avoid this hotel

Posted May 14, 2014
I wish if I paid more & stayed elsewhere. This hotel is outdated & is literally falling apart. My room got flooded during my stay ( a pipe under the bathroom sink burst). When I reported it to reception, they accused me of leaving the tap running, even though the repair man clearly reported it was a burst pipe. Restaurant staff are friendly but reception staff have a serious attitude problem.
