Amazing resort with amazing customer service. We are so impressed with the resort and the facilities, it definitely is luxury and they couldn’t be happier to try and make your stay amazing! I would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in Ubud. Skip all the tourist resorts and book here instead if you want an outstanding luxury experience!

While comfortable, to me, the room looked tired and definitely way past its prime. It was not particularly clean and had green mold in the water tank of the coffee maker. The staff really tried to provide excellent service but in my opinion lacked the training required for a 5 star experience. For a property of its size, I thought it was understaffed and many of the details I usually experience at this price were absent. The food and drinks were moderately expensive as would be expected at a 5-star facility but, I found the food to be mediocre. There were some great restaurants in town. Overall the whole experience was like a cruise ship. At almost $700 per day including food and drink charges it definitely was not worth it to me. It was still an ok trip if you are not budget conscious.They were unable to provide NONE of the VIP hotel.com gold member benefits including guaranteed late check out. I am not sure why that was promised on the site. For me, they over promised and under delivered.

The smoothest and most professional hotel experience we've had. Everything was on point - from the beauty of the surroundings to the whole staff. I think we ended up trying pretty much all services Tanah Gajah offers and each and every step they delivered. We ended up changing our upcoming winter holidays to visit them again.

When we stepped into this property, for a moment it felt surreal! And it truly felt that way during the entire duration of our stay. Boutique Resort with Extraordinary Service
Only 20 villas spread over large property with gardens, ponds, rice paddies, large common pool that never had more than 1-2 other people there (though we had our own villa pool), and spa. Each villa has original art collection from owner. It's luxury with local flavor. The service is extraordinary... there's complimentary afternoon tea every day; we asked for local treats and drinks (off menu) and they obliged with different items every day of our 5 day stay. Most of the staff have worked at this property for years and there's obvious pride about this place. I've stayed at Four Seasons Sayan and Jimbaran Bay -- Tanah Gajah wins by a mile. We traveled with our young adult son in a 2-bedroom 3,000+ sf villa -- the price was better than a one-bedroom villa at comparable international chains -- but the experience was better. You feel secluded but every available service (meals, afternoon tea, car ride to Ubud town, laundry, etc) is just a WhatsApp away (the reception desk put us on group chat with several staff members... every request was answered promptly... just blew me away...)

The property is lovely and a great location to be in to just relax and unwind. The paddy fields look loverly and the restaurant overlooking the fields were fantastic sight to dine off. We had a personal buttler who was very attentive, quick and humble. The entire staff knew about us since there are only 20 villas and by the end of our stay we had met most of them. The resort provides private car shuttle round trip to go to ubud centers. The drivers are fun to talk to as well and extremely humble and honest. The breakfast and the afternoon tea with snacks were refreshing. Overall if you want a relaxing experience and down to earth and caring staff then this is the place to be!! We were greeted by the Resort GM, manager and the chef as well which made it all the more personalized experience.

We stayed three nights here. Check-in process was confusing and not seamless. Staff did not accommodate food allergies at restaurants well. We always had to remind them and explain to them what "no dairy" meant. Restaurant mediocre at best. Bathroom facilities, flooded, no toilet paper, clogged, and nothing to wash your hands with - unacceptable for a 5 star property. Butler however, was wonderful, as were cocktail hour, and the room itself was beautiful. Laundry service was also a nice touch. Restaurant staff, really needs work. For the price you pay - you can get far better food, service, and staff that understands you in Ubud area. Would not go back. We were very disappointed. We had better times, food, etc. for a 1/3 of the price at other 5 star properties in Bali.

Absolute perfection, I've never felt soooo relaxed
We had high expectations reading reviews, but nothing could have prepared us for how completely in love we have fallen with Chedi Club! The grounds are beautiful, rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the pool!!! Service is incredible, everyone is so warm and friendly and will do anything for you. Food is fantastic too! Food and drinks are expensive, but given there are so many inclusions (amazing breakfast, afternoon tea, laundry service, mini bar) and everything is so amazing, we didn't begrudge paying those prices at all. I have never felt so relaxed, and will be booking asap to go back next year, and for a bit longer. I think this will become an annual trip for us, and despite all the travel we have done, this is the first time ever we have found 'our place' that we want to return to again and again.

Relaxing Stay
The hotel is great, few villas lost in a wonderful very quiet garden. The staff was helpful and nice. The atmosphere was really relaxing. A special mention goes to the restaurant with refined dishes, a wonderful view, and a very very attentive staff. As Ubud is submitting to mass tourism, it was quite difficult to find authentic places. We would have appreciate more help / guidance from the hotel on the best way to enjoy the city.

The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah in Ubud was even prettier then the pictures posted on the website. Our room was well appointed and spacious. The service couldn't have been more attentive and the food and drinks were wonderful. We visited the spa and had one of the best massages we've ever had! I never give out excellents because I feel there is always room for improvement but not here. It was perfect!

A picture-square resort in Ubud in the middle of rice fields. It has a unique room with bathroom, tub, & shower being outside. You feel like you're taking a bath in the middle of a forest. The restaurant is in the middle of rice fields with a nice breeze.

My wife and I stayed several nights here on our honeymoon — incredible place! Most unique resort we have ever stayed in. Complementary shuttle into Ubud very useful. Grounds are abundant, historic and picturesque. Highly recommend!

The most spectacular place I’ve stayed
This hotel is truly spectacular. First, the hotel grounds are amazing — beautifully designed and landscaped. It’s truly breathtaking. The same goes for the villas. You feel like you are in a special place wherever you are on the property. Second, the hotel is extremely intimate. There are only 20 villas so the property never feels over saturated with guests. I did not stay in a villa with a private pool so I used the main pool and never had to compete with guests for space. There were multiple points during my four night stay where I had the pool to myself. The third highlight of the Chedi Club is all the included extras — a beautiful (and filling) breakfast each morning comes with the room (juices, smoothies, yogurts, fruits, pastries, and then your main breakfast course) as well as a complimentary afternoon tea with tea cakes (which you can have anywhere on the property including at the pool or your room), and the complimentary happy hour from 6-7, which includes amazing cocktails and wines (and you aren’t limited to just one glass!). Other nice touches are free morning yoga, free laundry each day (six pieces per guest), free shuttle services to Ubud (the hotel provides you with a cell phone so you can call the driver when you are ready to be picked up), and your on-call butler who can assist you with any questions or needs you may during the stay like making reservations for tours, restaurants, etc. Finally, the staff was incredible.

Perfect Honeymoon
Our stay here was fantastic, we booked a private pool villa and were blown away by the comfort, amenities and views it provided. Nestled in the middle of a rice paddy and with only 20 villas on the entire property, it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves despite staff telling us they were 80% full. The "Free included breakfast" is a huge understatement, as this isn't some cheap breakfast buffet but a proper, full service meal including a starter of fresh fruit, and a bread basket, in addition to a large choice of main courses to choose from (both western and Indonesian options); we found ourselves looking forward to breakfast every day of our stay. The hotel grounds absolutely gorgeous, as the entire place is effectively an art museum, simply walking around the resort is a delightful experience.
