“Felt Like Royalty at The Mansion”

My wife and I were not sure of the hotel so we reserved one night. Once we are there we loved it so much we decided to extend our stay for two more nights. The Mansion Hotel really feels like a mansion. The concept is so unique we fell in love with its architecture, tropical extended gardens and our hidden villas. It is difficult to describe what will you see and feel because it is different and unique. I have traveled a lot and stayed in so many resorts and hotels but my stay at the Mansion was unique. The service was superb and the staff was very friendly. The most of all their rate in November was very competitive for a five star hotel. One issue I did not like is yyou have to use the Hotel shuttle to go to UBUDA downtown but the schedule is evey two hours. If you need to use the service during other time then you have to pay for it at a rate of five dollars each way. My wife and I will be back soon so I highly recommend it.

Area recommendations

We stayed in Kuta and Ubud. We prefer Ubud because it is in the mist of a tropical setting but a bit far from Denpasar airport. Kuta is closer but mostly a hustle and bustle settings.

When to go

November has proven to be an excellent month for us because it is an off season and thus hotel availability, prices and crowds are at its optimal level. November should be the beginning of the rainy season in Bali but we did not experience much of it.

“The best experience ever”

Right from the outset,the arrival to the departure,the Mansion Resort was the most enjoyable time we had in Bali.The old world charm is to be found from the lobby,to the rooms,and the outdoor gardens with three great pools. But it is the warmth and attention given by every member of the staff,what qaulity people they are.The hotel manager who we meet,must be very proud of his team

“Peaceful and easy drive into central Ubud.”

We thought the Mansion was great value for money, a la carte cooked breakfast each morning was included in the price, beautiful pools, extremely friendly and helpful staff...free shuttle bus to and from Ubud ran every 2 hours. We were very happy here.

Must see

Take the time to do the Bali Bikes cycle tour through the coffee plantation, rice fields and Kinamanti Volcano - loved it!

Dining

Nomad, in the main street of Ubud was FANTASTIC! Tasty modern Balinese food, great prices...however the service is a bit of a miss, but we still went back!

“Can't wait to go back”

It was the nicest, most friendly place I've ever stayed. I truly loved my experience and will definitely be staying there again and recommending it to everyone. A lovely breakfast was served by the infinity pool each day, a chef would make me a vegetarian omelet on request and they'd bring me green tea, all the staff are polite and say hello and smile each time you walk past. The gardens are kept beautifully maintained, my room was a deluxe room and it was huge and quiet. My friend stayed in the honeymoon suite and it was also lovely, with it's own private pool and enclosed verandah. As I was checking out the staff even confimed my flight for me and printed out my e ticket. This place was worth every cent.

Area recommendations

Ubud, it's a pretty area not far from town. Hire a motorbike or scooter to experience the fun of seeing Bali. I was there during July, it was nice and warm during the day, enough to go swimming, yet it wasn't too hot at night.

“Great Introduction to Bali”

When you arrive at the Mansion Resort Hotel it feels like a journey 100 years back in time. You arrive at an old-style mansion with beautiful grounds in the small village of Sayan, surrounded by rice fields. The Indochine restaurant at the hotel looks like a restaurant from a period film from a 100 years ago - in a good sense - in that it has a nostalgic, retro vibe. Phenomenal service whether at the reception, spa, restaurant or pool. Very helpful and friendly personnel. The hotel is a short drive (10 minutes) away from Ubud, and you can catch one of the free shuttles (every 2 hours).

Area recommendations

Check out the Ubud Jazz Cafe and the traditional Legong Dance (every night at 7 pm).

Other

I would skip Kuta. Maybe do a night at Seminyak, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua, if you want to see other parts of Bali. It's cheaper to rent a car with a driver right at the airport ($45 for 10 hours).

Area recommendations

Lotus Cafe and Laughing Buddha Bar in Ubud. Holy Water Temple. Ancient terraced Rice fields and Volcano about half hour drive(can't remember the name) spectacular views, amazing ancient temple, great places to eat-and the temperature was cooler.

“Good hotel just don't take the limo for a ride”

The hotel was good but they came to pick me up in the limo as it was my birthday but it broke down twice and finally we had to switch cars.

“Peace and relaxation at The Mansion”

My wife and I were amazed to find that the Mansion was exactly that and not just a name, it is a large and beautiful mansion house but more than that it is an art gallery and filled with museum artifacts. It is utter serenity and the perfect place to spend a few days in relaxing and beautiful surroundings, the staff are so pleasant and helpful that you get the impression that perhaps you are the only person there. Breakfast is waiter service with tea served in Royal Albert china and just to highlight the level of service, we wanted to go into Ubud with the hourly shuttle but none appeared. I asked at the desk and straight away a Mercedes limousine was brought and took us into town, they ascertained at what time we would return and at the time we chose a stretch Mercedes Limo brought us back, if you are going to Ubud (Sayan) then try The Mansion. it is quiet and not a place you can walk out from to anything interesting, transport into town is readily available and there is everything you need in the hotel, two lovely pools, jaccuzis and massage parlours etc. A good place to be between stays at say Kuta and perhaps Nusa Dua.

Area recommendations

Ubud is the cultural centre of Bali and as such it is the only place to visit in that area

“Can't wait to go back!!!”

Me and my husband went there during our Honey Moon. Friends told us stay in Ubud, it's the wonderful place ever. We listened and choose this hotel. We love it. It's a masion of an old general. I saw the most stars when I swam at night time in the pool. Waking up by roosters' songs, and enjoying the best spa in the world. the facilities of hotel are all great. will difinately go back!
