“Nice Balinese setting”

Beautiful hotel, statues, ponds, umbrellas, Balinese architecture and culture throughout, nice atmosphere. Some of the staff however don't know much English. Some other staff don't know exactly what to do, i.e. the beer and tonic ran out from the fridge and they didn't replenish it. When I called and asked for them replenish it, they brought warm beer. Laundry bag wasn't replaced unless I asked for it. But all these are minor compared to the overall very good impression and feeling.

“The Mansion Resort otel & Spa”

During our extensive travels in the last 50 years or so we have stayed in some of the most magnificent and opulent 5 and 6 star hotels world wide but we the wonderful experience we have had by staying in this hotel, ( which is NOT the typical Hilton or Monte Carlo one you would expect of a 5 star but truly Balinese), remains unsurpassed. Starting from the actual building and its its surrounding meticulously kept, its lushious gardens and pools, the indiscribibly beautiful alcoves and elegant furnishings and proceeding to the most increadibly wonderful staff headed but a young, very professional and charming French manager, for the almost 10 days we were there we felt like we were in a surreal heavenly world which you do not wish to leave,,, but eventually you must, but you do so with sadness but also with the resolve that, like General McArthur, you shall return! It would be impossible not to recommend this Hotel in the highest terms and we do recommend it with all our hearts and with our best wishes to the Manager and each and every member of his staff in the absolute knowledge that any reader of these comments who accepts them as given in good faith and spends some time there will thank us for herein providing a small but sincere inducement to make te decision as to which Hotel to stay in Ubud.

“The Mansion at BALIWOOD”

5 stars for ambience and setting, it's a quiet hotel just close enough from hustle and bustle of ubud centre. Not too many rooms, like a mansion from an ancient European aristocratic family. Friendly staff, and fellow guests, there's nice pool and spa to splash and relax in, the only thing might be... to be careful of ants and other bugs that are native to the mountains. Theres a convenient hotel shuttle every two hours, monkey forest and ubud markets iare about 5 mins from the shuttle drop off infront of ubud palace. keep the hotel's number handy so you can call to confirm time, otherwise, any one of the taxi drivers should be able to take you back for around 25000 - 30000 rupiah.

“A beautiful and comfortable hotel”

We loved our time here. The mansion was beautiful and beautifully furnished. Our room was very spacious. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. We enjoyed breakfast (which was included) in the elegant dining area and on the patio overlooking the pool. It was a quiet and peaceful stay.

“Mansion was nice, but...”

The Spa services were fantastic, the staff was friendly and helpful. My only "disappointment", it was listed as a 5 star hotel. The condition of the room and property would only rate 4-4.5 stars. The price was right and about a 4 star rate for Bali.

“Good value for Ubud”

This is a luxury hotel at a very reasonable price. Given that any foreigner will probably hire a driver, the fact that it's not right in the center of Ubud should not discourage you. The only glitch was our air conditioner stopped working the last night we were there, but I have no reason to believe that's a common issue.

“Good and dependable hotel”

The hotel staff were very friendly and offered to help book a driver for day tour and other day trips. The hotel is about 10 min by car to the central streets of Ubud. It was very easy to get back and forth from the center to the hotel using the hourly shuttle service provided for FREE by the hotel. This shuttle service seems to be provided by most hotels located just outside the central area. The rooms were large and comfortable. The breakfast was included and had good options (eggs made-to-order, toast, cereal, juice, coffee, fruit). The grounds are well maintained and it is easy to spend time relaxing by the pool. The only downfall was that the bed matresses was a bit hard.

“Ubud splendour”

We found the staff very helpful and friendly - rooms were clean, quiet and roomy. A seperated bathroom from the main bedroom area would be appreciated ! Overall very pleasant stay with a wonderful staff.

“Authentic Ubud experience”

Nice hotel, nice staff, lovely gardens. This hotel felt authentic to the area of Ubud and made us feel that we got the most out of our experience. Great value.
