Very cool botique hotelPosted Jul 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
On the beach, lovely pool and great breakfast. About a 20 minutes walk from all the Kuta shops/restaurants.

Tranquil Sandi PhalaPosted Jul 9, 2013
Pros: Beach view and private pool mean you don't want to leave
Cons: No extra glass and bottled water in bathroom for the third person despite asking as told it was not provided for 3 only 2
Rooms are dark as others have already said. The private pool is divine and the grounds and beach view divine. We stayed with our child and had an extra bed in the bedroom for her. We were given 3 bathroom towels but had to keep asking for an extra pool towel until about day 4 when they realized we needed the extra pool towel for our daughter. The minibar is replenished daily but only for 2 people not 3 despite asking. This also includes the bottled water supplied in the bathroom. Paying for 3 people but only getting water for two was frustrating but we just went and bought water and a glass for her as everything is cheap in Bali. The location is great and away from Kuta square which is what we wanted. The Lippomall containing a hypermart which is a supermarket opened while we were there which is literally around the corner so it is very easy to buy any snacks and water etc if needed. The minbar fridge is more like an esky as it took 4 days to make ice or adequately cool drinks from room temperature. The items replaced daily must have come from the hotel fridge as they were always very cold. Overall we were very happy staying there and enjoyed the tranquility whilst experiencing Bali for the first time. Possibly not good for families but fabulous for couples.

The Sandi Phala - Best service we've ever had!Posted Jan 24, 2012 on Hotels.com
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We can't say enough good things about the standard of service here. This boutique hotel goes above and beyond - we had a phone call during dinner here and the staff went out of their way to find us to give us a message. They are always polite and friendly, breakfast is excellent, PLUS they clean your room twice a day with nice little treats such as chic chip cookies! The room is beautiful with polished floor boards, and bathroom is big. You can walk along the beach and is close to shops and restaurants. FULLY recommend staying here.

Quality smaller hotel, walking distance to amenities, friendlyPosted Jan 24, 2011
A stylish smaller hotel set right on the beach promenade (with its own beach area) within a relatively short walk of Kuta and all of its amenities. Very friendly staff with great attitude. We booked a pool suite which comes with its own 1.15m deep mini pool on its own very private balcony. Bathroom with separate luxury soaker tub and walk-in shower. Very private deck with seating (and pool in our case). Stylish, very clean. Breakfast was superb (tried Balinese fried rice but also had eggs benedict and omelette on other days), overlooking the crashing waves and beach vista. Ma Joly is their French restaurant, which was very nice and good value though pricey compared to other restaurants in Kuta, may be the only French restaurant in the area. Spa was only average and needed a paint job and some AC maintenance, however the staff were friendly and there was nothing wrong with the experience. On 2 days we used one of their drivers who drove us to a number of interesting places including rice terraces, batik factory, wood carving centre, volcano, temples, coffee plantation etc. - the hourly rate was well worth it. Very respectful of the travellers needs. Always found us a good place to eat lunch. If you want a little more peace and quiet than being in the centre of Kuta (which is very busy touristy place) but still want some access to amenities (shopping centre, restaurant options) , The Sandi Phala is a great option. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
