Premium hotel with economy-class customer servicePosted Jul 2, 2014
This could and should be a great hotel, and it charges accordingly. But its customer service standards let it down. The tone was set on arrival, with our assigned 'host' in an obvious hurry to get through the proceedings as quickly as possible, including irritated demands for us to "just sign" the lengthy 'terms & conditions' we were presented with, followed by his visible exasperation when we insisted on reading them first. The layout of our two-bedroom villa was disappointing (the second bedroom being completely separate from the main area - more like a 'granny flat' - and with an unlockable door leading from its bathroom directly onto the rooftop, making it unsuitable and unsafe for our two young children) and the promised 'private swimming pool' was only the size of a large bathtub. We were offered a replacement (but inferior) room involving a sofabed being put in the loungeroom, which we declined. If you want your room fully serviced, you need to vacate it early in the morning - miss their scheduled service time, and you'll get only a partial service later in the day. There is a scheduled shuttle service into Ubud, but it runs only once every two hours, otherwise a premium taxi charge is levied. Overall, a disappointing experience for the money charged.

Nice villas right next to padi fieldsPosted Apr 28, 2014
Lovely villas, very friendly staff. Would recommend if it's a shorter walk to town area, but the hotel does provide two-hourly shuttles down to town area and back.

Villas with private pools are greatPosted Apr 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed 4 nights at Ubud Green with 2 friends recently, my friends booked a private pool villa which was gorgeous, there was also a spare room that I could have stayed in (only big enough for 1) had I known. I booked a room without a pool which was nice but as there is no communal pool if have been disappointed if I'd not been able to use the one in my friends place. It's a small site and a little out of the way but they do provide a shuttle at set times (can be a bit annoying having to stick to pick up times although they will collect u for a fee outside of scheduled times). They provide a local mobile so u can all them if u need pick up which is a nice touch. Very helpful staff who helped arrange our trips etc. Ubud is a great place for a few days too.

Decent place to stayPosted Mar 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is reasonable for a small 16 room place. The first night we stayed in a duplex room with the bedroom downstairs and living room upstairs. This was quite useless as we never went upstairs. The biggest issue was the continuous noise that we only noticed when we went to bed from the road. I guess since we were only trying to sleep for a few hours before getting up at 2am to do the volcano climb this was not a big issue. We did complain and for the 2nd night we were moved to a villa which was further away from the road and this was truly a very nice room to stay.

Ubud GreenPosted Jan 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is a nice place, our room had a private pool (gorgeous), a great bedroom, shower and tub (though not a fan of the open air bathroom, muggy), a large and comfortable living room (separated by an open air area with a private hot tub) and unexpected a second small bedroom (think guest room) with its own bathroom. Only downside is that its just over 1k from central Ubud and while the hotel provides shuttles they only run every two hours. you can arrange an off schedule trip though for a small charge. Also, note that they provide you with a local cellphone so you can make calls to get picked up etc. We would stay here again.

Beautiful villa in an out of the way hotelPosted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: The staff was extremely gracious and attentive, and I can't imagine a nicer villa--great beds, fresh fruit every day. It was a great deal.
Location: This was the biggest problem. There wasn't anything to do close by, we couldn't safely walk to town, and the free shuttle wasn't free most of the time
We had a mixed experience--see below for some pro's and con's. If I was going for a short stay and just wanted to relax in the villa, I don't think you could beat Ubud Green. But our stay was longer, and I felt trapped knowing that trying to go anywhere--except on their limited schedule--would cost at least $5 for even a short trip. I kept feeling as though the hotel (not the staff) was shaking me down. For example, when I asked them to recommend a tour guide to take me around the island, they would only say that their drivers would take me wherever I wanted to go. When I asked for the price of a transfer from the airport to the hotel, they gave me a "rock bottom price" after some negotiation and indicated anyone charging less would have a dirty car or get lost. But I was able to hire an excellent driver--Made Pering--who had an immaculate car and took me straight to the hotel for about half the price the hotel wanted to charge. (He also turned out to be a great tour guide.) I'm probably making too big a deal of the transportation issues. It was just one of those repeated minor annoyances that when they occur, mar what would otherwise have been a fabulous experience. If I'd known about it ahead of time and had my expectations set appropriately, it probably wouldn't have bothered me.

Good hotel and spaPosted Oct 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
I had a good stay in Ubud green. The conditions of the hotel is excellent, with big room. The breakfast is a la carte, with a very good food quality but the quantities are not huge. The view over the rice fields is amazingly relaxing from the roof top restaurant. The Spa provide excellent services, but it's pretty expensive so do no hesitate to negotiate. The location is a bit far from ubud city center, about 20 minutes by walking. The free shuttle is convenient but the frequency could be improved, it's only every two hours so far... A good hotel to stay in charming ubud anyway...

It was just okPosted Oct 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is a bit out of the town if u rely on the shuttle service from the hotel u just need to plan yourself around them as the bus run once every 2 hours and finish at 20:30 pm. I find the cleaning not up to my standard. The bathroom walls , basin, floors still not clean with lots of mark on ( the jacuzzi was very dirty, my husband need to clean them properly twice before we can use them ). Breakfast is good.

Nice peaceful location!Posted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: What can I say but the staff. They are definitely the hotel's best asset, they are so warm, friendly and helpful and keen to look after you.
Cons: Just a couple of minor points. A sun shade for the pool area over the sun loungers would be great and maybe a tea towel in the kitchenette.
Location: Elephant Park, cycling and white water rafting. All great fun. Daily free transfers at scheduled times into Ubud. Can walk during daylight hours.
From the minute we arrived at Ubud Green (6am in the morning) we were looked after by their lovely team of staff. We stayed for four nights in a one bedroom pool villa (which actually had an additional separate single bedroom). The room was immaculate and cleaned daily (often whilst we were in the restaurant being served to a delicious breakfast). There is also a turndown service at night and we were left some lovely fruit daily in our room. Our villa had its own pool that looked out onto the rice paddy fields, which in itself was most relaxing and an outside jacuzzi bath. Had we known how relaxing our stay would have been in Ubud, we would have preferred to stay their for our last three nights rather than in Legian.
