Beautiful property just out of UbudPosted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: The secluded nature and jungle setting. Comfy beds and a peaceful experience all round.
Cons: The villas are not truly private, as staff can see into them from the cliff above and the plantings or screens surrounding our villa were flimsy
Location: Great little warungs nearby - we loved Lili & Lala (I think it was called).
Situated in the jungle and accessible only by foot or bike, this is a beautiful more regional property about a 20 min walk from central Ubud. This suited us just fine and was a perfect balance to busy Seminyak.

tranquil place to stay in UbudPosted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: The people.
Cons: A coat of paint.
Location: Location is excellent. Ubud marketplace is only fifteen minutes walk.
We enjoyed our stay thoroughly at Villa Nirvana. We were in Villa Shanti. I have no bad comment about the villa,. However, I felt that it needs a coat of paint. I particularly liked the people. Breakfast was excellent. The restaurant has a young Indian chef (Rohit) who is really good. We enjoyed Balinese, Indian and Western cuisine at the restaurant

Wonderful piece of heavenPosted Feb 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
The staff at Villa Nirvana made our stay as comfortable as possible and attended to all our questions and needs promptly. Everything was very clean and well kept, a mosquito net is provided around the bed and all doors so it was mostly insect free. There were also insect repellent coils provided in the outdoor bathroom. The villa is located a 15 minute walk from the main road of Ubud which is quite lovely if you do not mind the extra exercise. You get to know the village rather well this way.

Villa nirvanaPosted Jan 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
This place is special. Starting your experience with the cab ride that can't get you all the way to your hotel. You are met by a smiling face on a golf buggy to shuttle you down narrow paths to a lovely private villa all lit up romantically and instantly calming . This place is about 15 mins walk from town but very peaceful walk along lovely pathways through rice paddy fields and old buildings. To a lovely staircase down to main road . Absolutely a must if you want to get away from a busy life. Dean ( manager) is a really nice and has a total command of the English language which is really helpful when you first arrive ... Could not be more helpfull Thank you Andy and Jen

A very un-relaxing experience.Posted Jan 9, 2014
The Villa Nirvana is accomodation I would expect to pay around $50 US per night for. The villas are nice, however the walls are flimsy and you can hear anything and everything that is going on around you. From the busy motorbike path next to our room to the neighbors conversation at 5am. To eliminate any further chance of serenity there was constant chainsaws and angle grinders going from morning to evening constructing the hotels extension and repairing a fallen tree. This made it absolutely impossible to enjoy the villa and shared pool. Unfortunately we had pre-paid for three nights. We put up with the noise for two days before complaining which resulted an upgrade to a villa away from the motorbike path (the upgrade was added to our bill though!) and x2 complimentary massages. Really the hotel should be closed until the construction is complete because I am sure all guests will be dissapointed paying top dollar to stay in these conditions. Take away the noise and I felt this hotel was more mid-range accomodation rather than luxury. We left after the third night to stay around the corner at a fantastic luxury hotel the was not only cheaper but was completely luxurious, serene and embodied the culture and feel of Bali. A much better choice.

REAL NIRVANA!Posted Dec 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
It was a true Nirvana. We were amazed by the service, location and quality of villas. We rented a two-bedroom villa with a private pool. A great lodging for a family or two couples! You have your own mini hotel with a pool for yourself. Nobody is around. In the morning you hear the birds and insects because there are no cars nearby. Breakfast and dinner were great too. It is also a great place to stay before a Batur climb, which we did the next day. Highly recommended!

Private and beautifulPosted Dec 4, 2013
Pros: Landscaping, staff, villas, and the location
Since we are a couple who enjoys walking, this was the perfect place for us to stay. It's a 25 minute walk to the shops in Ubud. A car or taxi cannot come to the front door, but the hotel will pick you and your luggage up via a golf cart at any time. Their restaurant has delicious meals, and do not forget to get a facial or massage on site. The staff is professional and nice.

Excellent servicePosted Dec 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay and would love to go back. The staff was friendly and helpful and the accommodations were wonderful. Loved the location and traveling around on a scooter was much easier than Kuta.

An enchanting getawayPosted Jul 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
Villa Nirvana has offered one of the most delightful experiences in our Asian travels. The separate villas are comfortable and well maintained, the staff (including a young and very personable Indian chef) go out of their way to make the stay enjoyable, and the jungle setting away from automobiles makes it very peaceful. The only drawback is the local prohibition on road signage, which offers a challenge to many taxi drivers not otherwise familiar with the local village, but it is just a short walk to the street leading to the center of Ubud with its amazing variety of shops and restaurants. This is not the party scene of Kuta or the somewhat sterile isolation of the major resorts. Instead it is a chance to enjoy Bali at its best although still with complimentary WiFi and satellite television. We loved it.
