Perfect luxurious escapePosted May 21, 2014
Pros: The location was perfect. the staff were extremely friendly. The food was excellent.
Location: Ubud is the cultural centre of Bali and so is the perfect location for anybody wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle and experience real Bali
We stayed for a week at the Villa Sarna, booking the Krishna room. The room was well furnished, clean and perfectly located with a wonderful view of the tropical forest and was close to the pool. We were given a wonderful warm welcome by the staff, who had placed rose petals on our bed spelling "happy 50th birthday" and we were also given a birthday cake each! The room was air conditioned and had free Wi-Fi. The pool was amazing and we had it almost to ourselves all week. With only 7 rooms at the hotel we felt like we were the only ones staying there, it was so quiet. We ordered food from the restaurant most nights and this was delivered to our rooms. The quality of the food was excellent for the price. The mini bar contained snacks and drinks and prices were again very reasonable ( note that wine is quite dear though, although this can be found in supermarkets more cheaply in Ubud). The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We booked a driver for two days and we were able to tour the island; we would recommend the Monkey Forest, Bali Zoo, Dolphin experience, the volcano, Balinese dancing, and visits to see wood carving, silver making etc. around Ubud. The taxi service to Ubud from the Villa Sarna ran hourly by request and this took us to the money changer and to the centre of Ubud, Massages and therapies are offered by the staff in perfect facilities next to the pool. We will definitely be returning and would recommend for couples wanting a romantic holiday.

Far from the Maddening CrowdPosted Feb 20, 2014
Pros: The location, staff, and owner was super nice.
Villa Sarna- is like staying at someone's exotic villa in the jungles of Bali. Shuttle service to and from Ubud was excellent and the Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The views from the breakfast table were amazing as was the breakfast. Great bathrooms and a room safe. Place is decorated very nicely. Pool was a bit small but fun nevertheless.

Great Hotel Outside of UbudPosted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: The peace and quiet.
Cons: More pool towels.
Location: It is 8.7km from Ubud and is very peaceful, take a shuttle into Ubud.
This hotel is about 8.7km out of Ubud. The hotel has a regular shuttle into Ubud, as it is not really in strolling distance. The staff are great and are available to help with anything. The hotel cooks breakfast then all other meals are prepared at a restaurant near by. You can either eat at the hotel or up at the other restaurant (they will drive you up and back if you want). The pool is beautiful and clean and is nice and cool after a warm day in Ubud. The villas are so peaceful you wont even know anyone else is there with you.

wonderful surroundingsPosted Feb 6, 2014
We found the hotel in wonderful natural surroundings and nice to return to after a day in Ubud. The only criticism was that our room had a moulding smell. The staff managed to air the room so it became tolerable. We did the bike tour that the hotel is offering and it certainly recommendable.

Lovely location tucked away in the mountains.Posted Feb 5, 2014
Pros: The nice big room
Cons: More bench space in bathroom and better water pressure
Location: Not close to town and very steep so not a walk
Great set up. The only thing is it is 10-15 mins out of town so can't walk to any eateries etc. Reliant on shuttle service or taxi.
