Ballito HotelPosted Jul 6, 2011 on Hotels.com
As previous reviewers have stated, this is a new hotel that is still trying to figure out how to manage itself. My family and I stayed here over the long Easter weekend in April 2011. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast.......The staff was not equipped to handle the number of people that ate every morning and long lines ensures. Other than that, this was a wonderful hotel with friendly, helpful staff.

PAY A B&B RATE BUT DON´T EXPECT BREAKFASTPosted Jan 16, 2011 on Hotels.com
THIS HOTEL COULD REALLY BE SO MUCH MORE IF THE OWNERS REALLY PUT THEIR MINDS TO IT. THE ROOMS ARE WELL APPOINTED AND VERY COMFORTABLE BUT THERE CLEARLY IS A GREAT LACK OF TRAINING AND UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT A HOTEL SHOULD BE LIKE. THE DOORS DID NOT OPEN WITHOUT HAVING TO BE SLAMMED IN USING THE SHOULDER (THIS IS TRUE). THE IRON DID NOT WORK. THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH FOOD FOR BREAKFAST, THE ESTABLISHMENT RAN OUT OF BREAD, MILK ETC. AND GUESTS WERE LEFT WITH NO BREAKFAST AND ONE OF THE SHAREHOLDERS WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE WHEN IT ALL HAPPENED. SHOCKING! I COMPLAINED AND THEY PROMISED TO CALL ME BACK, I AM STILL AWAITING A CALL FROM THE OWNER OF THE HOTEL.

Great value for moneyPosted Dec 29, 2010
The Hampshire Hotel has great rooms, they're a good size, nice big bed, big LCD TV, safe, etc. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast had a decent selection of food, and the coffee was awesome :) The only downside is the location, it's not near the beach, it's at the far end of the Ballito. In my opinion that isn't a big deal as you're going to spend most of your time outside the hotel anyway, and its a much better deal than most of the B&B I looked at in Ballito.
