Nice, modern hotel, though a walk from Old TownPosted Aug 2, 2013
Cons: The hotel elevator was very slow. Also, I could never figure out how to turn on my room's lights.
Location: Old Town Luebeck is beautiful!
This was a nice hotel. The only drawback - albeit minor - is that there's a bit of a walk to get to the Old Town.

God value for money. We just stayed on our way home. Very close to old city center. There is free parking if you don't park in the garage. The beds were nice wich is the most important for a short stay.

Great location to old cityPosted Jun 18, 2013
Great hotel with a pool. It is a 5 minute walk over a bridge to the old city. Great hotel reception and great time. They are also remodeling, so it should only get better.

Convenient location, nice hotel, exceptional staffPosted Jun 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is located just outside the old city gate (eastern side of the city) and is a 15-minute walk to the city center. Very convenient location. Street parking was plentiful, within 50-100 yards of the hotel (and the hotel staff were happy to explain where to park). Speaking of the hotel staff, they were all outstanding: helpful, extremely friendly, very accommodating. I cannot say enough good things about the staff (and I can be a difficult customer ...). There was a problem with the room booking - we booked a family room that looked impressive online, but were given a smaller, less impressive room upon check-in. Next day, at the reception desk, it was explained to me that the online room description was wrong (that room would have cost 100 euros more per night). Nonetheless, the staff person said she would honor my booking and she moved us into the suite, which was wonderful. Basically, this was a problem with the American hotels website using the wrong room description and photo. Luckily, I had saved the image of the room that was shown when I selected the hotel room online - along with the description in the confirmation email, this was enough to convince the staff person that I had booked the suite in good faith and so she gladly gave me that better room.

As Americans greeted in Germany we were treated with great care. The staff at the desk welcomed us and called us by our names more than once throughout our stay and we were only there for a brief time. We were very impressed. They were helpful and knowledgable. We had drinks and were served pretzels and peanuts with them and a candle was lit. This hotel seems to take pride in the "extra touches!" Thanks.
