“Scandic Lubeck is a Serene Oasis”

My stay in the Scandic Lubeck hotel was most enjoyable. It is clean and modern with good eating and exercise facilities. Reception desk staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping provided a very quick clothes pressing service just in time for me to attend a meeting. The Scandic Lubeck is located on the opposite end of the old town from the Movenpick and away from the busy intersection around the Holstentor. That is why I call this a "Serene Oasis". From the Scandic you can take a short and scenic walk over a bridge and enter the old town through the Burgtor and take the beautiful walk all the way straight through the middle of the town. There is also a taxi stand next to the Scandic and a number of buses that stop across the street in the Gustav-Radbruch Platz. The Scandic can feel a little removed from the town, even though it is very close by. For a different experience, there are also excellent lower budget hotels and rooms in Lubeck that feel more like they are a part of the town itself. I consider the Scandic Lubeck a luxury spot to stay. It is a quiet and beautiful hotel with easy access to Lubeck.

The hotel was spot on. Excellent location, excellent breakfast with a very wide selection. All staff very helpful, the bonus being that most of them spoke English. The rooms had everything you could need, plenty of space and impeccably clean.

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The room was clean and well maintained. We had breakfast which was good value with plenty of choice. We found the staff friendly and helpful.

“Good place in Lubeck for the money”

We stayed three nigths with our son who had been an exchange student nearby. We had a rollaway bed and it made the room extremely tight. The breakfasts were included and the selection and quality was amazing. The pool on th lower level was a bonus. Great friendly English-speaking service

“Great location”

Great hotel with central location - only a few minutes walk from main shopping area. We were traveliing with a 6 month old baby & staff only too helpful to assist with hot water for bottles etc as required.

“Fine, but nothing special”

This hotel is ok but nothing special. The Breakfast was good but then so are nearly all the German hotel breakfasts. The pool is very small and the sauna is only turned on in the evenings. The rooms are fine, clean and ok. Generally middle of the road three star. Some staff a bit brusque.

“Convenient to the Copenhagen Airport”

The rooms were a bit drab and in need of an upgrade. Cleanliness was generally good, as was the breakfast and dinner offerings. This hotel caters to flight crews and business travellers. If you arrive early in the morning, as most people travelling to Europe from the USA do, you won't get into your room before the 12:00 noon check-in time, while flight crews are allowed to check in immediately. The neighborhood in which the hotel is situated is rather plain, but there is a bus stop nearby that will allow quick access to the center of Copenhagen.
