Great Deal for the moneyPosted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: Clean and safe
Location: great/excellent eating places near by and shopping if that what you need.
It was not a 5 star hotel but I knew that when I made the reservation. Over all I felt I got a great deal for the money and would highly recommend it for others that just need a place to rest their head for a day or two in a safe and clean environment.

What a disasterPosted Aug 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Excusing the fact that the hotel was in the middle of renovations, we booked two adjoining rooms, but when they gave us the keys, one room was already occupied and we ended up on two separate floors. The sofa bed in one room had never been unpacked and we needed to get scissors from the front desk after our call to the front desk was never answered. There's more but this highlights it. I wrote an angry note to the management, received an apologetic call and a promise of a free future night -- the latter has never arrived.

Close to Wegman's -- very nice!Posted Jul 15, 2013
Pros: Quiet, close to Wegman's
Cons: It's in Columbia
Location: Columbia is a suburban area rather than a town. There is no cultural centre. Walking is not really possible -- it is designed for cars only.
The staff were polite, helpful and congenial. The amenities of the room were ideal for an extended stay -- cooking and cleaning facilities, full-size fridge, dining table for two which doubles as a worktable -- good lighting. The climate control was fully functioning and easy to use. Part of the hotel was under renovation but apart from certain areas being blocked off, this did not have an impact on the quality of the stay. The proximity to Wegman's (grocery store) is a real plus. The only real down side to the hotel is that it is located in Columbia; but if you have to be in Columbia, this is a very good place to stay.

Under Renovation. Will be nice once completed.Posted Jun 25, 2013
Pros: Updated rooms were pretty clean.
Cons: The hotel is under renovation
Location: Not as close to Merriweather Pavilion as Expedia said it was.
The hotel is under renovation. Our room was pretty nice but you could tell there was still work to be done. The bathroom fan didn't work and a few light switches did absolutely nothing. We arrived at the hotel late at night after a concert and the front doors were locked. A sign said 'Office Hours ...-11pm. After a brief moment of panic we saw the doorbell attached to the wall labeled after hour arrivals. Once this hotel is fully renovated I'm sure it will be very nice. Right now, however, you can find nicer hotels in the area for a cheaper price.

I think a new way of keeping expenses down....Posted Jun 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Nice hotel, they were doing a lot of remodeling so its understanding that there were a lot of workers around. I think a lot of them just stayed there. No one on duty after 11:00, but these is a buzzer if you need someone. Like I said, maybe a new way of keeping cost down. Very accomidataing staff, had pet, no problems. Carpet was a little stained, maybe this room saved for pets or like I said a lot of remodeling going on. I would stay here again.

Not so "Refreshed"Posted Jun 7, 2013
Pros: Close to restaurants and shopping.
Cons: As mentioned above, some sort of hand hold or support bar or grab bar would be nice in the shower - existing was a problem without any type of support
Location: Fine location - close to shopping and eating
The extended stay hotel was in the process of "refreshing" it's rooms - something not known to me before checking in. It would have been nice to know that there would be construction odors and noise before taking the room. One day, the water was turned off for 5 hours due to renovation - not so convenient for me. I got a "refreshed" room; however, the curtains were water stained and frayed, the drawers would not close because they were not crooked, and those that did close, did not stay closed; the refrigerator was hand dirty hand prints all over the handles. There was a flat screen television, but the was no access to a "guide" or schedule - one had to just go up and down the channels to see what was what. The bathroom was clean, but certainly not "refreshed." There was complimentary shampoo, etc. - but if the prior guest didn't use it all, it was left behind for me to use (the same for the kitchen soap). One thing I would strongly suggest is some sort of hand hold in the shower - especially for older people. There was absolutely nothing to hold on to when entering or exiting the shower.

Value for the MoneyPosted Mar 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
I chose this hotel for its bottom dollar pricing. Not the most comfortable environment to sleep but worth what I paid. There was a faulty compressor that made a banging sound every 5 to 10 minutes but I quickly fell asleep and it did not disturb my rest.
