Pros: Convenient and clean.
Check in clerk was extremely pleasant and helpful. We arrived during a convention and had to wait a few minutes so she gave us a complimentary breakfast.

Don't bring kids for the pool

Posted Jun 21, 2014
We stayed here in late June thinking the kids would like the nice indoor pool. We were wrong. There was a huge group of middle school kids that weren't too bad really considering. Also the pH of the water must have been off because as soon as I started drying off it felt like fire ants were buying me all over, though it didn't seem to bother the kids much. We we're going to let them swim some in the morning but nope, not here. The receptionist lied to me 3 times saying Maryland law didn't allow swimming before 5 pm. I finally got her to admit that the law required a lifeguard which the hotel didn't want to pay for all day. If you're going to visit DC with kids, either call the hotel first about their lifeguard hours or stay in Virginia like we did the rest of the trip.

Pros: Clean
Cons: more shampoo
Location: was on business
Needed two doubles but had to settle on a king. :( Was a nice hotel. Clean, quiet and comfortable.

Skip this hotel

Posted Apr 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
I was not a happy camper with this hotel. We picked this hotel based on price, convenience to DC and Baltimore, indoor pool and the reviews. This hotel is only by an Outback and gas station. Nothing else!! It is a 30 minute drive to DC and close enough to Baltimore that, was fine. However, the hotel was older and NOT cleaned as well as I like. The room where we were in had a stained bathtub that took some convincing to get my kids to go in. In addition, while we were there, there was one night where there was only hot water and you couldn't flush the tolets. I called the front desk and they said they had people working on it. Then a day later, the elevators were acting up and only 1 of 3 elevators worked. I also notified the front desk and they said they would notify the staff. Please note: there is no hot tub, only the indoor pool. I thought it was misleading because often times if there is a hot tub by the pool. Finally, we stayed here 5 nights. If you are staying 1 night, it would probably be ok. But not for an extended stay. I wish I had spent a little more money and had a better hotel experience.

Room at the Inn

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: Available, clean, good access to Laurel
Cons: Breakfast is weak - go see what a nice Hampton Inn provides.
When other places were filled, the Holiday Inn was not. It is a good solid value, but in need of updating the rooms. For example, the number of outlets for charging all the pads and phones is limited. Also, some of the outlets on the lamps are unusable by chargers Dated, but overall OK. The breakfast is a poor second cousin to what Hampton Inn provides.
