Home away from home.

Posted Nov 30, 2014
Pros: The complementary breakfasts and dinners Monday through Thursday, although very limited in choice, were quite adequate.
Cons: I went by the hotel three or four times before I realized that there were signs for the "Homewood Suites.as well as for the "Hilton Garden Inn".
I admit it. I'm a tough grader. To get all fives the hotel would have to provide bone china, chilled champagne, and a chocolate on a turned down bed. The Homewood Suites did meet or exceed all of our expectations. We stayed at the Homewood Suites because of a series of appointments at Johns Hopkins Hospital, a three hour drive from our Central Virginia home; and the patient could not tolerate multiple trips in one week. Here it was an easy 10 minute drive to the hospital. We found the suite very comfortable with plenty of drawer and closet space for two. The only cooking we did was boil water for soup. But there were two burners (no oven) in addition to the microwave. I liked the desk space with a phone in addition to the phone by the bed. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Valet service was as advertised. We would call for the car 20 minutes ahead of time and found it waiting for us when we got to the hotel lobby. The heat and hot water is provided by a utility company. The pipeline failed and it took the utility over 24 hours to locate the problem. Then they began digging up the street. Though not responsible for the problem hotel management was very apologetic and said they were more than willing to help us find other accommodations. But we chose to stay rather than to pack and unpack again. The room actually stayed around 70 even though it was in the lower fifties outside. We plan to go back to hotel the when follow up appointments are necessary

Thank you for the feedback you shared during your recent visit. I am pleased you enjoyed the service and accommodations so much! I am so sorry that the neighborhood utility failure caused such discomfort as it certainly is not our intent to welcome anyone in such a fashion, let alone a guest away from home during an anxious time. I look forward to sharing your comments during tomorrow’s team huddle and we look forward to welcoming you back.

Nicest, most attentive staff!

Posted Nov 28, 2014
Cons: Room and hallway cleaning needs to be better supervised - our first room was obviously NOT vacuumed.
A perfect location for exploring the Inner Harbor and within walking distance of plenty of interesting restaurants. The rooms were nicely laid out, very comfortable, and relatively clean. The free breakfast was outstanding with pancakes, eggs, bacon, pastries, cereal, and a large, friendly, attentive staff that really made an effort to make sure you were happy with your meal. Every where we went in the hotel the staff was noticeably friendly and helpful. We would certain stay there again. Don't forget that in city hotels, one pays for parking - in this case, $23 per night.

The only complaint I had was that the sofa bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress was so thin that you could feel the wire underneath. Had to pad the bed with several layers of covers and sheets to sleep.

great location

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: location for me was the most important as I attended a conference at a nearby (1/2 block away) hotel which had basic rooms more than twice the price .
Cons: I don't think anything could have been better--very pleased
Location: aquarium, stadiums, many sight-seeing spots close by. Just adjacent to harbor and many close restaurants
steps away from the harbor, many close restaurants, aquarium within walking distance, theater and starbucks next door.. Room and amenities were excellent. Very good full breakfast and dinner with beverages (beer and wine) most nights is included. Top notch exercise facility adjoins the hotel with free use of facilities. I was very pleased and quite comfortable. All staff were friendly and most helpful.

We really had no complaints. The room was very nice and clean. The ice machine was broken on our floor but we lived. Would stay there again.

This hotel offers complimentary breakfast, it is great. Also Monday to Thursday complimentary dinner and drinks(wine, beer and soft drinks, try them you may be pleasantly surprized! If that is not your thing there are loads of restaurants around. We stayed in a king suite with a part view of the harbour. From the time we arrived(early) to the time we left everything was fantastic. All the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The location is very central, just a short walk to restaurants, shops and tourist sites.
