“Fine”
My stay was fine, apart from 2 things: The shower had no hot water, and the breakfast left much to be desired.
“Convenient but needs alot of work, not worth the price”
The convenience is the only plus of this hotel as my daughter is a JHU student and lives next Hopkins Inn. Staff, extremely lazy. Could not answer any questions regarding the area or transportation. Front desk attendant was on the phone the whole weekend and didn't have a problem helping herself multiple times to the food buffet and playing her loud music. My room was on the first floor. Staff was extremely loud. I got a regular wakeup call at 5ish in the morning. Room was ok. no TV opitions and TV was very old. The sound button was missing and there was not a remote. Bathroom floor was not clean and could us a grouting fix up. Maid left bag of towels in my room after her "clean up". Bed and carpet was in good condidtion. As my daughter is a hopkins for four year I hope the Inn "cleans up" its act. It has a lot of potential. If you do decide to stay request that you not be on the first floor near the lobby
“Great location but”
No handicap access. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. No land phone in room. Bathroom was a water closet with mini sink and step in shower that you couldn't move in. Mirror on the wall in bathroom was 8x10. Toilet was clean but very old. TV had limited channels. Breakfast was pre-fixed eggs and sausage, french toast, etc. Thank goodness for the cold cereal, fruit and milk. Extremely poor lighting in room. Either I got a very poor room through Expedia or ...... However the front desk personnel was very personable and helpful.
“Very disappointed”
This is a very small size hotel with easy access to downtown and especially to Johns Hopkins Hospital. But the breakfast is typically served late, and some rooms were infested with ants, bugs. My room was not cleaned regularly. I was the unfortunate customer happened to be affected by bag bugs and noises around. It basically is a poorly maintained hotel. I even had to get myself treated because of the bug bite.
“No elevator”
This Inn does not have an elevator or blow dryer in rooms or extra remote controls for the TV. If you cobntact the front desk (first you have to find the number) with a concern, don't expect a call back. Very convenient to Wolman and McCoy Halls.
“Very basic”
Just a room
“Great budget find in central Baltimore”
For a modest budget hotel, the John Hopkins Inn was perfect for my needs. Great location, price. The singe room w/queen size bed, on the second floor was more spacious and handsomely appointed than were the common areas, hallways, or basement breakfast room which I would term merely adequate. A/C was noisy and not especially effective, but the room was still comfortable. When I wanted a cab, the office/staff person called one for me and it arrived immediately. Hotel staff/only one person on duty was barely professional, treating the office as if it were their home, eating take-out food, watching tv/computer, hanging out with friends. I did not mind, but others might find this informality less than satisfactory.
“Very Good Service”
Its not a 5 star hotel but for the price it was much better than I expected. The staff was really nice, the breakfast was good, the room was comfortable. ^.^ When the AC seemed to stop working in our room, they offered to give us another room. ^.^ It was such a wonderful experience, I would totally use this place again!
“Hopkins Inn a delight”
Wonderful place cute, quaint, clean Friendly workers .. great place if you have a child going to Johns Hopkins , as I do. It's next door to the dorms and was across the street from my son's apartment complex. I can't wait to go back!
“Excellent Bargain in Nice Location”
When I had lived in Baltimore, I had walked past the Hopkins Inn thousands of times and gave it very little though. So, I was pleasantly surprised by the service and quality of our stay at Hopkins Inn. We decided to stay there because of affordability and closeness to Hopkins campus (and its convenient fleet of Zipcars). When we arrived, we found that the room (actually, a two-room suite) was much bigger than expected and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the thoughtful touch of a cookies/watermelon snack in the lobby was greatly appreciated in the afternoons.
