Nice hotel across from inner harbor

Posted May 18, 2015
Would definately stay again. Expensive but worth it. You get what you pay for. We were upgraded to a king suite with harbor view. We put kids on sleepout sofa. They were happy with their own space.

kind of old building, but nice hotel

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: staff pool jacuzzi room size
Cons: stained towels
Location: inner harbor Baltimore
The room was big, comfy. However, I unrolled a towel and it had huge reddish brown stains. Big stains!! Half the bath towel was covered. Really nice pool, and jacuzzi. Staff was very nice.

Delightful location, Helpful staff

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Staff, location, amenities
I stayed at the Royal Sonesta to be downtown to hear a concert at the Modell Performing Arts Center. My stay was delightful. I had a relaxed and tasty dinner in the restaurant before leaving for the show. The room was comfortable. and remarkably quiet. The view of the harbor from my window was special, both in the daylight, and when I returned to the room at night and saw the harbor and city lights. I had to leave unexpectedly early the next morning, and the staff was helpful in expediting my departure. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

The views of the Inner Harbor are amazing for sure, and we appreciate that you commented that the guestroom was quiet despite our downtown location. The hotel itself is very beautiful. The front desk workers and those in the lobby were friendly and doing the best they could. However, check in was hectic. There were many events occurring at the hotel, which is understandable. What is not is the fact that I could not get into my room for almost two hours past check in time. The hotel offered no explanation.

Thank you for staying with us, and for complimenting the Front Desk team for their efforts during a very hectic weekend. We faced some operational concerns this past weekend, April 10-12, as we faced our first sellout weekend since our renovations began in early December. While all 203 of our guestrooms and suites are now fully renovated, the renovation team spent last week working on "punch list" items and because of this the guestrooms were turned over slowly to the hotel team this past Saturday, causing the delayed check-in process. We apologize that these delays impacted your stay, and we hope you plan to return so that we can showcase the high level of service that has long been our hallmark.

Bad Experience.... would NOT go back!!

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: The location of the hotel is ideal and is a few blocks away from the Inner Harbor with lots of restaurants and shops.
Cons: The staff did not have any customer service etiquette. It would have been nice for the hotel to acknowledge the long wait during check-in

The location of the hotel is ideal and is a few blocks away from the Inner Harbor with lots of restaurants and shops. Unfortunately that is the only good part of the hotel. It took us over an hour to check-in to the hotel. The hotel staff did not apologize for the long wait or acknowledge the fact that they had a lobby filled with frustrated guests waiting to check-in. The guest checking-in next to me had an issue with their reservation (wasn’t in the system), so no one paid attention to me. I asked about a late check-out to compensate for the wait, and the staff member simply replied with “hmm call down in the morning and ask”. When we finally made it to our room, we found hair over the bathroom sink, shower, and toilet. It did not appear to be cleaned very well. We asked the front desk to call for a taxi for dinner for us, and when we got to the lobby they said wait outside for the taxi. Well what do you think we did….. wait! The taxi cab never showed up, so after 20 minutes (after they should have been there) we took matters into our own hands and called for an UBER. When I checked-out the next day, I told the front desk about my experience and all I got was “sorry”. For the amount of money I paid for my hotel room, I was EXREMELY disappointed in the staff and hotel all together. I would NOT recommend going to this hotel, unless you want to overpay for a poor experience. Very disappointing….

We certainly apologize for the poor experience that you had staying with us this past weekend. As you are undoubedtly aware, we are at the very end of a months-long $10 million renovation. This past weekend represented our first sellout weekend since prior to the renovation kickoff, and as you experienced, we faced delays in gettings rooms back into service. All guestrooms and suites have been fully renovated, but our renovaions team spent the first third of April completing "punch list" items on the guestrooms and suites. As these items were being completed over the weekend, the guestrooms were released back to us, most of them late in the afternoon on Saturday. We obviously did not anticipate these delays, and we certainly should have done a better job communicating the cause of the delays. The ladies and gentlemen at the Front Desk did their best to make the most of a tough situation that was certainly not their fault, and again, we apologize for the impact this had on your stay. We certainly hope you plan to return so that you have the opportunity to experience our hotel without the renovation taking place.

Very clean and spacious room

Posted Apr 12, 2015
We rented 2 rooms for our stay. Both were very clean and large. Hotel foyer looked dated but it did not matter to us as the rooms were very nice. Foyer restrooms were also very clean. We enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Great location, comfortable hotel.

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Comfort
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. All of the staff was very friendly. The room was quite large and comfortable. The pool area is very nice, and the salt water pool is so much better to have in place of the usual, chlorine laden hotel pools. Location is great for all the Inner Harbor activities. The only one thing that was a negative for me were the toiletries, with a very heavy coconut smell (body wash, shampoo, etc.) I would stay at this property again (just would bring my own shampoo).

We look forward to hosting you again in the near future!

hotel was ok

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: their service and staff were very good
Cons: the pool, lights in the pool, blankets could be warmer
Location: at the innet harbor but on the other side of the aquarium and shops. may be ok in warmer weather but was farther walk in cool and rainy weather.
thought location would be better, pool water was a little dark. we wouldn't recommend only because of the location. aside from that, the hotel was nice.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the hotel. We'd love to receive more feedback about what about our location you found disappointing, as guest after guest comments that our location along the banks of the Inner Harbor within easy walking distance of all the main attractions makes for the ideal spot to visit Charm City. Regarding the pool water, salt water pools tend to have darker water than chlorine pools. We do hope you will return soon to give our hotel another chance!
