Great surprise in the middle of Towson~

Pros: The hotel was clean and provided more room options than other hotels in the area. Parking was free and easily accessible...Highly recommend it.
Cons: Thought there might be a pool or hot tub/spa in the hotel, but there was not.
Location: This hotel location had accessibility to shops and restaurants. Some restaurants had outdoor seating, as well.
This hotel was ideally located for a weekend stay in order to attend a special event. The initial experience of checking-in was very efficient and the staff was friendly and helpful. The surrounding area had shops and a variety of restaurants including a Starbucks which was conveniently located next to the hotel. We were able to walk the streets, noticing it was a relatively safe area. The room was clean and comfortable, and the layout proved to be spacious. This hotel deserves a great review; it's earned it!

Sleepless in Towson's Marriott
Posted Jan 3, 2013
The king size bed and all the pillows were terrible--too hard, resulting in an almost sleepless night. Except for thedesk chair, the other chairs were back ache inducing.

My husband and I stay there every time we are in town visiting family. The staff is great and we've received an upgraded room two times!

Could not check in at 6 PM due to linen issue - had to wait 45 minutes. 2 other friends had the same issue (the day after). In the room, towel rack was coming off wall; a table's legs were so loose that it wobbled badly; tv power was disconnected and we had to move the console in order to fix it. Kitchen had 2 (yes 2) glasses. Can't believe JW has his name on this hotel. Will never stay here again.

Some the basics were missing.

Pros: The location
Cons: Sunday morning I was directed to the Starbucks at the corner for breakfast. The restaurant was not open for breakfast by 9:45.
Location: At Towson University
When I arrived at 6:45 PM to check in, there was one reservation clerk manning the desk. He was assisting a woman whose reservation was duplicated in the computer. They were working together to fix her reservation. He called someone from a back office to assist him with the woman's reservation. When that task was completed, he gentleman left and when he reappeared, he asked me if I had been helped yet. He then told the reservation clerk to help me next. We were the only 4 people in an expansive lobby. That was over stating the obvious. I was checked in and given my key after waiting 25 minutes. I felt that as the supervisor he should have checked me in to expedite an already lengthy process. When I got to my suite the two bedrooms and the living room were nicely appointed. However, the exhaust fan in the bathroom had 1/4 inch of dust caked to its housing. This was a modest bathroom with a 7 foot ceiling. The exhaust fan was a eye level. The kitchenette had more than a few crumbs on the granite counter and in the sink. They did blend in with the granite, but it still should have been wiped down when the suite was turned around.

Pros: Breakfast dining room--food and staff
Cons: Nothing
Location: Right next to the college, perfect for Parents' Weekend or orientation
This was our second stay at this hotel, and it has been an enjoyable experience both times. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We especially love the breakfast dining area-the food and service are both excellent.
