“A Banff Gem”

We have stayed at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge in the past and have always had a wonderful experience. In fact, on this stay, they upgraded our room upon arrival. The staff are friendly & courteous and the service is impecable. The Lodge's location on Tunnel mountain requires a car or two-wheeled transportation. Its setting on the hill and its appearance adds to the rustic charm. This hotel is by far my favourite in Banff.

“Romantic Getaway”

Do not stay in the king plazma suite if you are looking for romance, this suite has no character and the bedroom does not have a fireplace. For romance choose one of the queen suites with the extra large bathrooms, these have clawfoot tubs fireplaces and wooden beam ceilings. I had reserved the king suite thinking it would be the nicest, there was no real picture of the king suite on the site. I was very disappointed when I saw it and asked to be moved to one of the queen suites, they were very willing to move us, though they couod not refund me the difference since I had paid through this site ( I think that it was only a $15 difference so it wasn't a big deal). Also the hotel is surrounded by some forest so getting an outside facing suite will add to the romance.

“Perfect Relaxing Spot!”

Came here with my Mom and we loved every minute of it. The staff was so courteous and nice, and helped us with everything we needed. Rooms were clean, pretty, rustic cool feel and overall really nice decor. Great fireplace was definitely a plus! Would recommend!!!

“Excellent Choice for Stay in Banff”

This lodge was extremely comfortable, the food was excellent and the staff welcoming and attentive. All round excellent experience.

Great hotel and great restaurant (Sleeping Buffalo) in Banff. Particularly liked our suite during our first visit with the Murphy bed.

“Big comfy bed”

I usually prefer Jasper to Banff, but if I stay in Banff, I prefer the hotels on Tunnel Mountain, away from the townsite. Buffalo Mountain Lodge was very comfortable -- we had the King suite with the giant plasma TV (which we didn't watch -- you're in Banff: go skiing, sit by the fire). The Kitchen was by far the nicest of all the hotels I've stayed at, the decor was very nice and the bed was not only huge but very comfortable, with lots of pillows and a nice duvet. I'd stay there again, although I might fork out for a room with a balcony.

“Can't wait to go back”

We stayed 4 nights the week of July 25th-29th. This was truely a beautiful place to stay. We were very comfortable with the room, the pillow top made the bed very cozy and soft, just like home. The tub was great. Food at Cilantro's was great, a little spendy, but worth it at least once during the stay. Service was great. Overall We loved it and would definatly go back,would love to visit in the winter season to fully enjoy the atmosphere. Though the last night the neighbors smoke alarm went off due to starting a fire without opening the chute. I have read reviews of it happening before, maybe they should consider posting a note to open vent prior to lighting. Very pleased with our stay at Buffalo Mountain Lodge, and will go back....
