Wonderful Canadian Rocky Mountain venue

Posted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location.
Cons: The property is aged, and is really starting to show it. Our mattresses were DEFINATELY in need of replacements.
Location: There are many opportunities for outdoor experiences near Emerald Lake Lodge. Historically, lodge personnel have helped us find ideal ones.
We stayed (again) at Emerald Lake Lodge for the 4 th time in 5 years. As always, we love the location next toEmerald Lake. This visit had some disappointing elements however: 1. Our room key stuck in our door. This required me to return to the Lodge for assistance, and resulted in a 20 minute delay. We didn't even receive an apology from the front desk personnel. (Pliers were required to remove the original key, which was replaced.). 2. There was a wedding party at the hotel. Unfortunately, the room above ours had folks who celebrated until 3:40am. 3. At breakfast, we were only charged for my wife's breakfast-my buffet charge was not included on the tab. When I brought this to the attention of our server, rather than apologizing, she acted annoyed. This too wasted another 5-10 minutes. These were inconsistent with our other visits.

Beautiful and serene!

So enjoyed our experience at Emerald Lake Lodge! Hiking around the lake was especially fun before a great breakfast. Thank you for keeping it pet friendly. Being able to vacation with our dog made it that much more special!

Outstanding location and experience

Posted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: The scenic location is equal to anywhere in Canada. Tghe rooms have fireplaces in which the staff have prepared wood and kindling for you to light.
Cons: The cabins will be 30 years old in 2016 and although some renovation has been done, more will be needed to keep them in good condition.
Emerald Lake Lodge enjoys almost private views of one of the most scenic areas in all of Canada. I've stayed there 4 times now and will very likely return again in the future, despite the fact it's a long trip from my current Chicago area home. I've found the rooms to be incredibly comfortable and well kept, the staff friendly to a fault, and the food very good. If there's any downside, it's that this experience comes at a stiff price, so I can only enjoy it every few years.

Over rated and over priced.

Very pricey for a rustic experience over run with tourists.

Overpriced for what's offered

The location of the hotel is great, but the quality of services and maintenance of the place is average at its best. Overpriced, remote place.

Magical

Posted Aug 12, 2014
If you want an amazing view, there is no better. This place radiates romance. The walks are spectacular. A few negatives, in the summer it is busy with tourists. You hear them from morning until early evening. Skip the breakfast, far too busy and noisy. The formal dining room is great for a romantic dinner and the waiter really is superb, so knowledgable and professional whilst maintaining the right amount of charm. Not the place if you want complete solitude but once the tourists leave, Emerald Lake can be described as magical.

Has not changed in 27 years

Posted Aug 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed at this property in 1987 and the only change to the rooms was the lighting fixture in the bathroom! The two double bedded room I was in was on the small side with no a/c. Property getting very tired looking and not maintained as well. Parking is somewhat of a hassle, hotel guests have to park away from hotel and then call for the shuttle bus for a ride to hotel. Dinner at the main dining is good but very overpriced. The setting of hotel is beautiful but overwhelmed all day long by the tour buses dropping off their groups.
