The receptionists's manner's to me were unkind

Posted Jul 26, 2015

Schöne Lodge direkt am See

Posted Jul 14, 2015

Definitely "away" from modern pressures

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: see above
Cons: Wi-Fi in the rooms is a must these days for checking on travel arrangements.
Location: Scenery is wonderful. Walking around the lake was very nice There were canoes to take out on the lake. It was 30 minutes to drive into Lake Louise.
The cabins and lodge were quite nice. Staff was very accommodating. Boating and hiking were the main local activities. There was no cell service, and internet/wi-fi was only in the lodge building. No TV in rooms. The room phone worked fine. It was cumbersome to make travel plans using only the land line or a walk to the lodge building.

Amazing gem!

Posted Jul 8, 2015
This place is like the ultimate summer camp for adults fully equipped with bonfire pit, s'mores kits, canoeing, hiking, awesome hot tub and one big difference: amazing food! The beds could use an upgrade, but otherwise this place is the most beautiful best kept secret in the Canadian Rockies. Go!!

I love this amazing hotel!!

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: Location, rooms, restaurant, staff - everything about it!
Cons: There is a guest car park about a mile down the road from the actual hotel with a mini bus service to the hotel - this may get busy at peak times.
Location: Emerald Lake - has canoeing, hiking, wildlife etc.
We booked into the hotel for our last night in the Rockies as a treat and we were not disappointed. The Lake itself is beautiful and the hotel situated on a small island in the middle. The hotel is a series of units divided into four rooms, two overlooking the lake and two overlooking the grounds. We were lucky enough to have a room with a balcony overlooking the lake and were amazed when we opened the balcony doors to be greeted with the most amazing view. Our room also had a lovely fireplace which was stocked with wood and kindling ready for us to light. The restaurant and bar area cater for all and we were allowed to take cocktails up to our room to drink on the balcony. We so wished we had an extra day to stay at Emerald Lake - its is a very special place.

Breathtaking, quiet and tranquil serene nature!

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: The breathtaking scenic mountain/lake location is perfect! The hotel sits right on the lake surrounded with majestic mountains.
Some of the best service and staff we have ever encountered (yes we travel a lot). Wonderful location, tranquil and very quiet. Our visit was in early June, with perfect weather. We didn't even miss not haveing any cell, tv or internet service in the guest room as we thought we would have. The walk around the lake is a must do! We enjoyed the breathtaking view from the patio and the wood burning fireplace. I would suggest to ask for top floor - as better views from the belcony due to tall trees. The food was excellent. Total connection with nature and the perfect place for our romantic getaway.
