Hotel is noisy

Pros: Underground parking
Cons: Kitchen supplies and amenities need to improve. Very few pots, pans to cook with. Beds are not comfortable and need of better mattresses.
Location: Canmore is a wonderful mountain town. With Banff and the amazing activities nearby, you can't go wrong by staying here for a mountain holiday getaway.
The hotel is not very well constructed. Noise transfers from above and below your room as well as from the corridors outside you door. It was very loud into the late evening

Pros: the room was quiet
Cons: management
Location: everyone in Canmore were very nice and good restaurants.
Well when we arrived and checked in we were told we were staying in another building in front of the resort. Then we were told there would be no housekeeping services because we were only staying 3 nights. well we got to our room it was ok nothing special looked old. They had 2 towels one for each of us, 2mugs and 2 glasses. No washcloths, soap, shampoo etc. I did ask a housekeeper if we could get the washcloths but was told they didn't have them. Well I found another housekeeper and asked if we could at least get some clean coffee cups and they did give them to us. they said they were sorry for everything but were told by management to only give the customers what the needed if they complained enough? I fill bad for the employees who end up taking the anger from the customers when it should be directed to there manager or better yet the owner. For what we paid to stay there was way to much especially for what we received. No we will not be back at the Grande Rockies Resort

Reasonable Price, Good Location, Small Room

Pros: Food was good in the Habitat restaurant. You received a lot of food for what you paid.
Cons: Cleaner and more modern hallways.
Location: Good location right off of Bow Valley Trail.
When we arrived at the hotel, the lobby looked great as it was very modern. However, the parkade was very dark, and the hallways were not the cleanest. This is a very big resort, many steps between our room to the lobby/restaurant/pool area. So be prepared for that, depending on where your room is located of course.We were closer to Elevator 1. From the pictures on the website, I thought the suite would be larger. We were in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite. The kitchen was quite small, at most one person could be in there at once. Also, very limited kitchen utensils and supplies. We had very little paper towel left on the roll, and no extra rolls were found in the room. Same goes with the toilet paper. Very disappointing. Limited towel supplies were also provided. In the ensuite bathroom, we only had 2 bath towels and one hand towel. Would have been nice to have an extra hand towel and/or face towels. The shower/tub was a "spa" like experience. Many buttons and jets. Though the shower door would not stay shut in the ensuite, therefore, water was easily getting out of the shower. The common area was satisfactory. A 3 person couch, 1 person chair and a 4 person dining table all in the same area. There were 4 of us and we were each comfortable enough for the time spent in the room. A full balcony with a BBQ and seating area was nice to have as well. The pool area was good. A waterslide, indoor/outdoor hot tub, and a kids play area. A lot of people in the pool; big resort.

Lack of towels

Cons: More towels and coffee.
Location: The location was good but the scenery from our room was not
We were disappointed with the lack of towels and k cups. We were able to get pool towels later in the day and a coffee pot with regular coffee. Other people did not have enough towels either. 1 wash cloth and hand towel for two people for 3 days is not enough! The room was clean and adequate with a comfortable bed, but it overlooked the back parking/dump area, which was not very pretty.

Two worst nights we had in Canada

Pros: Location was good.
Cons: All of the items referenced above ....also the property was in need of a good cleaning and general maintenance. Staff..felt sorry for them!!!!!
Location: Central location and city center was close.
When we arrived at the hotel we were told that we would not receive any room servicing while were there and if we needed any additional towels we would need to contact the front desk. This was a surprise as there was nothing on the Expedia web site to indicate this. When we arrived at our rooms we discovered there was only 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels. No bath mat, wash clothes or additional hand towels. The 2nd room also had linens missing. We also identified that while we had kurig coffee pots - we had no coffee pods. When I phoned the front desk she told me they were out of linens - they had a very busy weekend. I told her this was not acceptable....and we needed linens. She advised she would check and get back with me. Coffee pods....well, they were out of them....and she said she would bring me a different pot and coffee...which she did for room 1 and not for room 2. The second night we went back to the front desk......linens were still limited and no extra coffee pot or pods. In addition, we were asking about a fax machine and were told they didn't think they had one. They later determined they did. It's difficult to think of anything positive to say. We were paid in advance and they certainly didn't want to adjust their charges! Poor, poor management.

One bedroom suite in the main building was amazing

Our stay at Grande Rockies Resort was very pleasing. We got a one bedroom suite in the main building, which had a living room, a bedroom, a big bathroom, and a full kitchen. The room was almost like an apartment, and very clean and comfortable. The shower was spacious, with lights, radio, a full electronic panel, a seat for jets to hit your back, and a telephone. The pool was very big, and the kids say the waterslide was fast and winding. The spa was large, and very relaxing after a day of sightseeing. I would definitely recommend to book the main building in Grande Rockies Resort.

No check in before 4pm unless you are booking a more expensive suite. No coffee in the room. Housekeeping hadnt properly cleaned from previous guests (choc bar wrappers on the floor, telephone under the bed). Not very friendly staff and clearly having staffing problems. Room quiet, bed comfortable. But for $250+ a night I expect much better service.

Weekend holiday

In general it was very pleasant. There were a couple of things that seems they may be both short staffed and a little behind on upkeep. The shower has jets for massage and foot massage and they didn't work. We had a very long wait for a luggage cart. It did seem extremely busy because of a wedding. I think a large hotel should have more staff .Also then check in could be a little a earlier than 4 .Especially since the price is very high end. The staff and cleaners were very pleasant

No Value for Money + Poor Management

Pros: Unfourtunately it was such a bad experience especially in the morning, that there's nothing good I can remember from it.
Cons: I believe the comment on my experience highlights that this is not a hotel that I will repeat nor recommend.
We spent one night and here is what we found: 1. The hotel is very outdated. Carpets are not clean and the rooms seem like an after thought in terms of distribution. 2. Value. We've stayed in similar hotels in the same area, paying similar (or lower rates) and the room comfort and hotel amenities are far better in other similar hotels. 3. Poor Experience. The hotel was doing some maintenance work (which was never communicated to us) and at 7:30 in the morning, we were all awaken by excessive banging above us. We contacted the manager who finally responded by saying: "We're doing some maintenance work that I had not been notified of. But I have checked and the noise level is within the by laws". This shows that if, as a manager, you're not aware of work in your hotel then you're not doing your job, but more important, whether the noise is within the by laws is not the question or the issue. Had we been notified that this was going on, we could have maybe prepared ourselves or we could have chosen not to stay. This bad communication from the hotel is not acceptable especially considering the money paid for the room. 4. Check In was very disorganized. We arrived at the hotel at around 4:15 (Check In is at 4) and we were told our room was not ready but that we were going to be called on my phone once it was ready. In 1.5 hrs we were not called at all, luckily Canmore is a great place to walk, but never did the hotel made an effort to contact me.
