Weekend in Canmore

Posted Mar 16, 2013
Pros: pool, bright sunny rooms
Cons: noisy, leaking toilettes
Overall, it was a good weekend. The suite was large and clean and the beds were super comfortable. Unfortunately, it was hard to sleep with the leaking toilettes in both bathrooms. The complex is a quite far from the downtown core of Canmore, which is both good and bad, depending on the type of getaway you want.

Beautiful Place!! Not a hotel.. Not near anything.

This is an amazing place that any group or family looking for an extended getaway would love! It has everything you need to enjoy a money saving do it your self getaway. Kitchen, large rooms, beautiful large dining area and living room. Private bathrooms in each room were a plus. I would caution anyone wanting the amenities of a Hotel that is remotely close to things like shopping, dining, entertainment, social settings, or just the downtown atmosphere. This is not the place for you! Even just getting a pizza delivered here is next to impossible... Also you are responsible for tiding up, doing dishes and taking out all garbage when you leave... This was a great place but it just wasn't what I was looking for on this trip...

platinum suites

Pretty good price for location and size. had some rowdy neighbours, but no one can guarantee who stays beside you they were loud and drunk and fighting 2 am newyears. apart from that, we were all happy with the quality of room. and will be staying again. the only thing was that we expected detergent in the room for laundry and there was none, and the hotel people cheaped out on the dishwasher soap, leaving ONLY 2 soap pills for our entire trip we usually wash our dishes twice a day when we stay at an appt or cabin, with the number of dishes provided, was not enough for 6 people to eat and then reuse at night, and then dishwash. so platinum suites, please dont be cheap and atleast leave 2 per day. we stayed for 2 nights, 6 people. 1 king bed, and 2 queens

Platinum Suites-excellent for families

This place was great-we had a huge two bedroom with a fully equipped kitchen. Two families could have stayed in it. The pool was great, as we took our 6 month old swimming for the first time.

Worth the money

The condos appear in brand new condition, very well kept, clean, modern and very large. Beautiful place to stay, we enjoyed ourselves. 1 large King bed with own bathroom and soaker tub and 2 sinks, 2nd bedroom had 2 queen beds and a bathroom, main living area and kitchen combined. Sofa in living room, fireplace, table and chairs etc. Pool and hot tub also great.

Quiet, relaxing retreat

The two bedroom condo setup was great for a family getaway--everyone had their own private space, and we saved a lot of money cooking our own meals in the fully equipped kitchen. The resort is handily located five minutes from the downtown core of Canmore, but is situated amidst a forested area and is away from the main streets...you feel like you are really in the Rockies. A few concerns did arise, however. The Platinum Suites is comprised of select units within a resort complex, and is managed offsite---there is no check-in desk or concierge for Platinum Suites, and the resort staff would not offer any assisitance (we had a clogged toilet, and they wouldn't even loan us a plunger). Also, the whirlpool was broken for our entire visit, with no attempt made to repair it. The pool was up and running (and was heated) so at least our daughter had somewhere to swim.
