Friendliest Staff

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Staff. Breakfast buffet. Location.
Cons: Parking lot has small stalls. Maybe patrol it and ask the people that parked crookedly or took two stalls to move/park properly.
Location: Lots of golf courses. Walk to downtown and did some shopping. Canmore puts on a great Canada Day parade. Hiking trails. Good restaurants.
I cannot say enough about the friendly staff at the Canmore Ramada. All staff from the front desk to the housekeeping and maintenance to the breakfast staff were friendly and happy. They told us the best places to eat and where to watch the fireworks and Canada Day parade. I would stay here again! The value of the breakfast buffet was great as well. The only downside was the small parking stalls. Hard to park a pick up truck. It didn't help that some guests took up two spaces or parked crooked. Thanks for the hospitality!!

Right Beside The Railroad

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: It was inexpensive
Cons: Housekeeping, breakfast offerings.
Location: Near Banff and less expensive to stay there.
We were fortunate to have a room facing the road instead of the railway - in speaking with other guests, the trains do run through the night and are quite disturbing. The room was not as clean as it could have been - bits and pieces of Kleenex/tissue on the bathroom floor, fluff in the corners, etc. A good coat of dust on the lamps. The bed was uncomfortable - sloped off at the sides and I ended up falling off 3 times during the night because I got too close to the edge. Pillows are ultra-firm; mine ended up on the floor and I used my arm as a pillow instead. We were given breakfast vouchers for $5.99 - those without paid $14.99. At 9AM on Canada Day morning they ran out of bacon and I was told it was not going to be replaced. When I expressed disappointment, I was asked if I wanted to speak to their manager. I'd hate to pay $14.99 for breakfast and not even have bacon. There was sausage, but not everyone likes it. There was a "mixed berry syrup" for the make-your-own waffles that was a pink gelatinous goo without any flavour. You get what you paid for, and I'm glad we only paid $5.99.

Location: Visit the Canmore Museum to learn about the 2013 flood. Wow!
Wonderful breakfast buffet, more than helpful staff, large rooms...

Nice hotel, nice staff

Posted Jul 3, 2014
We stayed one night in this hotel on our way through Canmore the hotel was very clean the staff were very friendly. The only thing that we didn't like we're the pillows they were very thick and the train. The hotel is right on the tracks we live on a farm where it is very quiet and to wake up to numerous trains in the middle of the night wasn't ideal.

Great to hear that you had a good rest during your stay with us. Yes some of our rooms do have smaller shower areas, on your next visit request a Deluxe room with more bathroom space.

Did not want to stay in Banff as it is touristy.

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: Cheap breakfast at 5.99 dollars, but as it is a buffet beware of cold scrambled eggs or bacon etc. Good value nevertheless.
Canmore is only 15 kms from Banff and is much quieter. Hotel Ramada on main road and is convenient for the town and restaurants. Railway line backs onto the hotel and trains go through the night. Be aware that they are very long, over 150 wagons long or over a mile in length with 4 engines! Good hot pool and laundry.

A great place if you have kids

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Price was right
Cons: Cleanliness of pool, hot tub
Hotel staff were extremely pleasant and great with our kids. The waterslide was a big hit with the kids, but the hot tub and pool need some maintenance. The hot tub water had a bit of a smell. The pool had a ring of grime at water level that should be looked after, but nothing that made me not want to still use the facilities.

Nice hotel.

Cons: Breakfast variaty
Location: Location is very good. just off the hiway. has enough aroung considering it is a small town.
Nice and clean hotel. I spent one night only. The room was clean and beds were ok. The pool was good, but just a little small. The breakfast was average or maybe a bit poor for the almost $6 they charge you.

We are glad you enjoyed the your recent stay at our hotel, and had the opportunity to visit places off property. We apologize that you found our breakfast buffet average. We have recently introduced several new choices in the menu, so that we can appeal to all guests. We have had great comments on the new items and the fair cost of $5.99 per person.

Nice view of the mountains.

Posted Jun 7, 2014
The view was great, however the hotel is right beside a railroad track. The breakfast had variety and plenty of choice, but is three star quality.

Thanks for your comments on your stay with us.. The hotel does have great views of the mountains in the bow valley, and glad you enjoyed them. As well as breakfast. Unfortunately the hotel does back on to the railroad track side, hopefully you were not inconvenienced by them. On your next stay, request your room to be on the road side of the hotel.
