Nice Hotel close to Main part of Banff

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Add hard boiled eggs to the Breakfast, some protein would been nice.
Location: It is really close to the main part of Banff so its within walking distance. however, it is far from the bars so it is quiet which is great.
It was a Great Hotel, we parked our car in the Hotel parking and didn't move it all week end. We were able to walk to everything within the town of Banff. Which was fabulous. Hotel was clean and breakfast was great.

Red Carpet a little disappointing!

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Location on main street was good.
Cons: The hotel needs a facelift badly. Its not even comparable to most of the other hotels nearby...very dated.
Location: Its located on Banff's Main Street and in walking distance to shops and restaurants.
The hotel seemed clean, but its old and very dated. Once we checked in our thoughts were we would have preferred to stay almost anywhere else but it served its purpose for a nights stay.

Average hotel, way overpriced

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Paying $200 a night for a 2 star plus hotel, is ridiculous, but that's how we all get ripped off in Banff, on a long weekend. Hotel room was clean, but very basic, and a very soft mattress gave us both backache !

A 2 Night Stop-over

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: It's location
Cons: A good all round revamp ie:-- a good clean throughout, new beds, carpets the works.
Location: Hotel in good location for all Banff's Town attractions, and very handy to walk or catch the Excellent bus service ( Stop outside Hotel front )
On the plus side Hotel easy to find in good position for walking to all Banff's attractions, free car parking. On the minus side the Hotel is in looking a little aged a refurbishment and brightening up is required, it's jaded feeling all round does little to enhance the stay.

In need of upgrades

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Location: Within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and theatre.
This hotel is in need of upgrades. The bathroom was in rough shape. The fan / light in the bathroom was so loud we didn't turn it on. Amenities such as hot tub and fitness equipment was located at the sister hotel.

Convenient, but noisy and over-priced.

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Free parking.
Cons: Continental breakfast is exceedingly mediocre. Walk a few blocks and you can get really good coffee, muffins, etc.
Location: Short walk to downtown.
The bed was comfortable but the pillows were overstuffed and lumpy. You hear conversations in the hallway, you hear every door closing, you hear the people above you walking around, and you hear your neighbor's showering and flushing. If you have cloths that require hanging, forget about it. There is no closet or even a rod with hangers. The room is adequate but lit with bright white (rather than warm yellow) florescent lamps. It's harsh and cold in feeling. The staff is friendly.

Friendly staff with mediocre hotel

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: wifi, complimentary breakfast, free parking, close to downtown, friendly front desk
Cons: clean bathroom, better bed, warm lighting,
Location: banff downtown
You get what you paid for. Good wifi, and good parking spot. Other than that, bathroom was dirty, bed was not comfy, and if you are not used to fluorescent lights, you won't like to be in a room much. it's got a refrigerator and an A/C, but the heater didnt work for us. it only worked as a air re-circulator for us. It's close to Downtown Banff. 10 minute walk if that. Complimentary breakfast.

Convenient to Banff Avenue shops and restaurants.

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Location on Banff Avenue.
Cons: The underground parking was impossible to navigate. It took one person outside of the vehicle to guide the driver. The parking out back is tight, too.
Location: Close to all amenities on Banff Avenue.
The room I had was a lot smaller than the one I viewed online. Although the bed was very comfortable, the room was the smallest hotel room I have every seen in North America. If you just want to sleep and shower, it's OK.

Red carpet?

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Location and free parking
Cons: Needs updating
Older somewhat dated hotel... Very dark and drab inside, however, rooms were clean and very conveniently located with free parking... Hotel staff not particularly friendly although not unfriendly either...just no cheerful smiles on arrival or when asked questions.. Breakfast provided although no hot items other than toast and bagels.. No hard boiled eggs, pancakes etc...
