“Very nice”
We liked the room very much and would stay again if we are in the area. The person at the desk was very friendly and helpful.
“Great rates, and nice jacuzzi suite”
So for my wife and my anneveraary, we wanted to go to banff, but since it's too expensive, we decided on this cheaper option and drove into banff. When we arrived, they told us they were all booked up so they upgraded us to a jacuzzi suite! For free! I'm not sure if they were actually booked up, or if they got my request saying that it was our 1 year and we could use an upgrade... The sign up front said there were vacancies. Overall, the hotel is very nice, the suite we were in was beautiful and everything we could have asked for As far as them not cleaning... It seemed fine to me. There was an old shirt behind the couch, and they forgot to empty one of the garbage cans. Why would there be 2 anyways? Not a big deal. The staff was super friendly and showed us different things we could go and see. We have a great stay! Thanks!
“last minute booking turned out great”
We booked for this past Labour day weekend and wanted to stay in Banff, this was booked 4 days before hand and limited hotels were available at an affordable price. I saw mixed reviews on this place and my boyfriend decided to heck with it and we can judge for ourselves PLUS we are only there to sleep. Check in was easy and laid back, only downside was we couldn't check in early b/c house keeping has not been to our room yet...but it really wasn't an issue as there was plenty to do in Canmore, not the hotel's fault at all. We stayed in a "cabin" with a Queen size bed, it seemed so small at first but really we got a good deal, and the room felt very homey soon after. We had a car so the location was good, even without a car we walked to The Drake for drinks later that night and it only took us 18 minutes. It was a clean room, only thing I wasn't looking forward to was the bed was very firm. I still had a great sleep though, I should have waited before judging it. We only stayed for the one night, as we found a hotel in Banff for the next night. Check out took literally a minute. If you are picky and only like to stay in fancy places, this may not be it for you. It's a great price to stay in Canmore, or close to Banff and it's clean!
“Older Hotel, great location, not super fancy”
While the hotel was comfortable, it was older and was not what I had expected. The room was quite small, as was the bed. It's more of a rustic hotel and so if you are looking for bigger room, this is not the place. As we were in Canmore to be out and about, the hotel was suitable as a pit stop so to speak. Price wise - there were hotels that were more up to date looking that were advertising cheaper rates as well. Will shop around way more next time, as we could have saved more $
“Very respectful and responsible!”
They were overbooked, and admitted their own mistake. To me, they are gutsy! At the same time, they up-graded our booking from the cheapest one to their top grade room with a jaccuzi. In fact, that was also thier last room available for that evening. To top all these up, they kept apologizing to us for a few times! What a service and respect they have shown!
“Good value for a short stay in a rustic unit”
Location was convenient, in a scenic valley with commercial amenities nearby. Stayed in a modest room which was an attached "wood cabin" unit - it was OK for one person on a short stay at a reasonable price. Hotel has bigger units for larger parties which are more modern in design and less rustic.
“Thanks for a magic stay at Christmas!”
I really enjoyed our stay here. It is a charming, all wood, true Mountain style cabin like rooms. The staff (owner?) was so welcoming and I have already recommeded this Lodge to family and friends and will book again for my next visit to Canmore. Thank you!
“stay”
The only bad thing was someone's car alarm went off 5 times during the night disturbing our sleep. Not as quiet as the sign on the inside of the door said it should be.
“Good Price”
My husband and I were looking for an affordable room for one night. This hotel fit the bill. Nothing fancy and the room was pretty small, but it was clean and perfect for what we were looking for. The staff was nice and helpful. The hotel is a bit older but if you're looking for a economical stay, this is it!
“Cozy Cabin Surprise”
Hotel was very cozy and rustic. Had a old family "cabin at the lake" feel. Definitely in need of some maintenance though, lamp looks like it was used as a weapon in a domestic dispute, all furniture circa 1973. Floor in bathroom maga rotten, lino is probably the only thing holding it up. Love the park in front with a very nice view. We really did enjoy our stay and the stray cat at the park was really friendly. We will be back!!!!
