Bad hotel in great location

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Entire place needs a thorough cleaning and upgrade! Old dirty carpet, not vaccuumed recently, dog hair all over couch. Room had capacity for 4, but only 2 cups, plates and glasses. Would have been nice to have firewood split. Won't be returning!

Rustic at best

Posted Nov 11, 2014
It has such potential to be charming cabins... but our experience was rustic at best. The floor hadn't seen a vacuum in days or more, very dated, the bed was just a box spring and mattress on a metal frame. No bed skirt even to show attempt. We were sadly disappointed. The website made it sound very charming and romantic. The bath towels are old and we'll used, we rented a cabin with one bed and a pull out couch... they knew there was three of us, and yet no extra linens and only one set of towels. We were VERY happy to check in to a different hotel for our second night in Canmore.

Great experience

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: The convince of being close to Banff and Canmore. And the cozy cabin feel of being out in the middle of nowhere
Cons: Just having a checklist to ensure that every corner is cleaned as there was still o used soap bar left in the shower on the corner holder.
Location: Everything you can think of in the mountains like going to Banff and canoeing of only being two of many activities
My experience was great. My friends and I found the location a little hard to find at first but a great place to come back too for another girls night or a family get together. There was no cable to attach to the DVD player either given or in the room. The bathroom still had a used soap bar on the corner holder. But overall it was great to feel close to home but yet that feel of being out of nowhere. I really would recommend this location to everyone I know. Staff is very friendly, professional, efficient and willing to assist, especially with booking activities. Thank you!

You get what you pay for...

Pros: Location and price
We booked 9 months ahead and this was the cheapest accommodation by far in the region, but as we had to find out - duhh - there is a reason for it! The cottage is in need of a complete renovation and lack of cleanliness is a real issue - the bathroom especially was atrocious. There are actually three positive things that come to mind: there were no bedbugs, the water heater in the room kept the room warm enough while there was snow outside and the staff were friendly. A booking over 3 nights that is cancelled will not be refunded.

Cute chalet tucked in the trees beneath majestic m

Were looking for quiet, quaint get away after a busy and stressful wedding. The cabin was warm and rustic looking while offering all the modern amenities. We were looking for a stay where we would be undisturbed and we got it. Beautiful scenery, personable staff. Highly recommended.

Lovely alternative to a hotel room

Posted Oct 27, 2014
Pros: It was a charming cabin in the woods. Much better atmosphere than a hotel. Wood stove, fire pit. And great location. The price was great too.
Cons: Clean linens, dusting, overall cleanliness. More attention to detail would have improved things
Location: Just on the outskirts of Canmore. Easy drive to Banff. We hiked at Heart Creek and rode the Banff Gondola during our stay.
Really liked having a little cabin to stay in. Very charming. But the cleanliness was seriously lacking.

Excellent sTay aside from the fact that some dishes were dirty and there was not enough paper or kindling to start a proper fire

Old facility however clean and cozy

Pros: Coziness
Staff ok. The chalet was well equipped and we were able to have breakfast and cook some meals. Wireless internet was fast enough to watch movies.

Cheap hotel close to Canmore at a reasonable price

Posted Oct 15, 2014
I had indicated on the reservation were going to have multiple occupancies in the room. Apparently this was not sufficient enough to warrant extra linens and towels. Above that we were informed there were no clean towels. The shower curtain was mouldy. The breakfast they offer is small with a poor selection. Price is right if you're expectations are not too high. Just found the overall quality of service to be lacking. And the staff were not at all concerned about the deficiencies brought to their attention. Nothing was resolved.
