It is nice new facility but walls in one bedroom were dirty and few items in the kitchen were not clean. Bathrooms and beddings were clean. It is sad to see the new place and furniture abused. People should take a pride and privileged to stay in place like this!!! and not to abuse it because it is not there's.

The Garage Door Experience

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Customer service and taking in consideration their request seriously
I booked in advance in this hotel and made especial request to have a great view and high floor. However, I ended up with a ground floor unit in-front of the hotel underground parking door. I was totally annoyed by cars' noises and could't sleep during the night. There is also, no privacy in this unit as all cars pass by you. Also, I requested to change my room and pay the difference if any but no cooperation or understanding as the employe said "we are sold out and next time you can book through us directly not Expedia to match your request". I didn't like the ignorance of their employees. The blinder was broken and requested to fix it but the maintenance guy seems doesn't care as he came and looked at it and said i can't fix it and left. The electric water kittle was not working. This is a horrible place where you could see the yuck things on the basin and the bathroom. In conclusion, I describe this place as money spent on establishing great resort badly maintained and stupidely operated by receptions.

Solara is nice, but there are nicer.

Posted Mar 6, 2015
Pros: The hotel is clean, location is good, and staff were courteous and professional.
Cons: -maintenance -furniture -new beds
Our stay has us for 3 nights in one of our favourite towns for some cross country skiing. First thing we noticed is there were several light bulbs out. Most of these new hotels are so dark, that light bulbs are very much needed. Every day we found more out. We had some changed, and lived with others out. The furniture in the living room is "pleather". Its design made it almost impossible to sit without sliding off the couch and chairs. The beds were so soft that it threw my back out. This is not a cheap hotel. There are so many other options in this price range, we won't likely be back.

Room hot

Posted Feb 21, 2015
Even though we turned down the heat to 16 it was still 24 in the room..had to open the doors to the outside. Only one elevator per building and two carts? Has to let 4 elevators go by because they were full on check out.

Rocky Mountain Haven

Posted Feb 20, 2015
Pros: Certainly the location is number one on this list. It was as if you were cradled amongst the mountain peaks. The staff were inviting and pleasant.
Cons: No biggy, but the garage was saturated by air circulated dust which accumulated overnight on the parked cars. You could taste the dust in the air.
Location: Like all mountain towns, Canmore is quaint and inviting. It is filled with businesses you wouldn't expect started by people who reside here year-round
I enjoyed a welcomed 3 days to take a break from the demands of everyday life. I found peace and tranquility sitting out on the patio, enjoying a nice glass of Beaujolais surrounded by the majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains. To look out at the snow covered mountain peaks soaring high above the rooftops of the villas was as inspiring as it was humbling. I arrived the day after a long weekend and I had the place to myself. I took my morning workouts in the well-appointed exercise room, showered in my room and then went out for a leisurely breakfast at Smitty's less than 5 minutes away. I left Solara Resort & Spa refreshed and recharged. I intend to make this post long weekend trip an annual event and look forward to next year when I will more fully take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and patio BBQ grill.

Solara Spa and Resort was more than expected.

Posted Jan 31, 2015
Pros: From the front end staff to the underground parking and private suite with wonderful views, we enjoyed all of it.
Cons: nothing
Location: Canmore is a beautiful little town with lots of restaurants, shopping and within half an hour of Banff and the ski hills.
We were looking for a getaway to celebrate our anniversary, more than just another hotel. Solara was the perfect choice, we brought a few nice food options and had the option of serving ourselves or heading out to eat. We were within 5 minutes walk to several restaurants. The Spa was heavenly, and the hot pool was large and quiet when we were there also. We would definitely recommend this getaway to anyone.
