Too expensive for whay you get.Posted Mar 3, 2014
Great looking hotel with the mountains and lake Louise in the backdrop. Beautiful in the winter... we were shocked by the prices of drinks and meals ($16 for a vodka cranberry cocktail!!, $18 to rent a movie in your room). That is the main complaint... you know it's going to be expensive but when they have you there with limited access to competition they really gouge you.

A great romantic ski getaway.Posted Mar 3, 2014
The staff are so kind and accommodating. We loved the horse drawn sleigh ride along the lake. My wife liked all of the shopping at the different stores at the hotel. This is one of the most beautiful classic and memorable hotels I have ever stayed in.

Expedia gets a great price for a reasonPosted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: The hotel itself was absolutely breathtaking! They had an ice sculpture garden, a cool ice castle wall, great activities and the scenery was amazing!
Cons: I doubt they would ever site why the room is discounted, but knowing about the scaffolding ahead of time would have been great.
Location: The location is right between several mountains and a glacier. Horse drawn carriages, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and ice climbing on site
Expedia gets great prices on rooms for a reason. I called the hotel when I first booked and they told me they were 90% sure if I put in the comments that I was traveling with a male coworker that they could accommodate us with 2 beds. This didn't happen. I also booked a "Lakeview" room, but found out why the room was about $100 cheaper on Expedia was because the "Lakeview" room also had scaffolding and workers outside the window. There was noise in the early morning hours from the workers on the scaffolding right outside our window. The view was nothing to be desired unless you are into looking at dude's rears and scaffolding. The bottom line is that Expedia gets a great rate, but they also get the rooms with tiny issues, inconveniences or other small problems. They cannot accommodate anything but exactly what is listed on the site because Expedia is renting very specific rooms at their discounted rate.

Excellent ServicePosted Feb 26, 2014
My husband and I spent one night here to celebrate our one year anniversary. We received a free upgrade to lake view room and complimentary champagne. The staff was wonderful!! I realize it's an upscale hotel but breakfast rates were a little ridiculous. $22 for continental breakfast!!

Rooms with the view of the lake worth the extra $Posted Feb 25, 2014
The service in the hotel was superb. Room service was phenominal - we had special orders and the hotel made them for us with minimal cost. Because of the vintage of the hotel the rooms are smaller than comparable newer hotels but everything functioned exceptionally well. Lots of dining options as well - more than you would expect by the outside appearance. The room came with a Keurig coffee machine, a kettle to boil water, and quality tea included in the room price. There was a fridge but it was free of the overpriced drinks and snacks usually found in them. Because of the location TV reception wasn't stellar, but one should be enjoying the great outdoors anyways!

Canadian Rockies ski trip!Posted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: Everything - comfort, cleanliness, beauty, options for meals, shopping, service was beyond expectations EVERYWHERE, easy access to skiing, too.
Cons: Several of the services offered in the hotel, but not by the hotel, do not have the same level of customer service attitude as those from the hotel
Location: skiing, ice skating, hiking, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, sleigh rides, snow shoeing, enjoying the beauty
Gorgeous Rocky mountains, great skiing and absolutely incredibly attentive service!

Beautiful and comfortablePosted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: The restaurants and deli, the spa and swimming pool. The range of restaurants. The stube is outstanding.
Cons: They should promote their gluten free dishes more - gourmet fare Put the ski shuttle timetable on the net, & update it daily. wireless is expensive
Location: ski !
Overall, I had a pleasing experience. Strongly positive was their willingness to accommodate a significant food allergy - we've never experienced such service as we did there, particularly the stube. Could not praise them enough. On the other hand, I requested 2 queen beds but received a king bed and a sofa bed with no ability to change to my request. I also picked up an error (to their advantage) on an in room dining charge and requested it be corrected - but never heard if this was done.

Spectacular hotel, spectacular locationPosted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: The lake views
Location: Everything outdoors - skiing, hiking, exploring, skating - you name it!
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is one of the world's most iconic hotels. Set in the Banff National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains on the shores of picturesque Lake Louise the hotel does not disappoint. The staff and the facilities are first class - only surpassed by the majestic scenery. It is truly breathtaking. We will be back, for sure.

Horrible experiencePosted Feb 18, 2014
I booked Deluxe mountain view room for our valentines gateway with wife . Just to be checked in to them room with courtyard view and garbage bins right outside of my window. I went downstairs to ask them how come I got that room , they argued with me that I can still see the mountain and I booked courtyard view which I didnt even know exist . Construction in many places , would of been nice to know about it ahead of time
