Nice hotel off the main strip

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Staff were very friendly and there was a very rustic feel to the hotel which fit well with everything in Banff.
Cons: The cooling in the rooms with the kitchenette. The bedroom portion was so hot on a cool day even with the window opened.
Location: Short walk from town, looks likes bikes are available from the front desk.
The hotel is about a 10 min walk from the main drag of Banff, there is an underground lot which fills up pretty early. At check-in we found out we were upgraded to a "suite" which also includes a kitchen. The open air hot tub was a nice touch, and although it was chilly out the room still heated up a fair bit.

Ok but expensive for what you get

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Cons: Do something to cool down the sleeping area and freshen up the room.
Overall our stay was ok. there are a few things that could be changed to make it better. First, we were upgraded to their king suite which is on two levels which was good. However, this room has air conditioning on the main floor and nothing on the bedroom level. This made the main floor cool and very hot to sleep. Putting in a ceiling fan could help drastically with the heat. The room had a stale smell and was just ok. For the price I guess we expected more.

Everyone else had air conditioning but us...

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: They have without a doubt the most amazing hot pool fashioned after a local historical site called the Cave and Basin.
Cons: Reveal in their advertising that no a/c is included in the room and that an open window in hot weather is a no-win proposition.
The only way to stay cool in our room was to open the window. Problem: We did NOT have A/C, but everyone else did, and had it on. Our choices were to leave our window open to be cool but endure all the outside noise that kept us awake, or close it and roast, which also kept us awake. I would never recommend this room in the summer to anyone.

Great location in Banff

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: The hotel has a nice hot tub/pool 'grotto' area, very nice. The staff at the front desk was terrific, quick to help and to provide information.
Location: Banff is one of very few towns located in a National Park. Perfect place for hikers, bikers or tours.
We had a very comfortable 1 bedroom. Kitchen consisted of sink, fridge and microwave. An easy walk to hiking trails and to downtown. They provided bus passes on local shuttle system which stops at most of the local attractions. The hotel also rents bikes at reasonable rates, and that provided us with a pleasant way to explore the town of Banff. There is free underground parking. There is a Chili's Restaurant in the lobby. They are open for lunch and dinner and in the morning there is a complimentary continental buffet breakfast. Free wi-fi that was strong and reliable

Pros: Location was ok.
Cons: Install A/C
Location: Downtown was close by.
Did not know that there was no air conditioning. Tiny room. Not worth the price.

Nice hotel, great location!

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Nice and comfortable, and in a great location.
Cons: Their version of a hot pool, is like... what the heck is that? Management should have it re-designed completely. It's dark and scary.
Comfortable and clean. Nice to have a terrace with great views. Fireplace definitely a plus!

Very cool hotel in a great location

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: Staff was very good, very nice hot tub.
We liked the hotel overall. Rooms were nice but the walls were very thin, we could hear people talking in the next room. The hotel staff was very knowledgable about the area. They recommended activities for us when we asked them and showed us how to get there. Also the hot tub was very cool!!

Cons: The breakfast they provide is a little skimpy.
The hotel is very nice. The suite we had had the AC only in the living area so in the evening it got slightly warm in the bedroom but was not real bad.

Nice hotel near within walking distance from town.

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: location and room was great
Cons: air conditioning in bedroom
Location: close to town - easy walk - drove to park highlights - parking lot great - nice hot pool system with open skylight was romantic.
This hotel was real nice. We rented the suite (king bed with view) and got an ok view across the main drag to a mountain, however, we got a living room, kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom and patio with furniture. Staff was great - convenient Chili's on site - served typical continental breakfast. Loved walking into town each evening (aprox. 1/2 mile). Air conditioning in bedroom didn't work, but worked in living room. Other than hot weather, everything was great - location, condition of everything and service. We loved the food in town and our Banff vacation.
