Magnificent hotel...as expected

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Having stayed at another Anantara hotel in the past, I knew the standard to expect...magnificent, and this certainly did not not disappoint! Whilst we weren't expecting to stay at a hotel at this standard on our one night stopover in BKK, the expedia deal offered made it an affordable luxury! Magnificent room, view and customer service, topped off with a beautiful buffet breakfast....life could certainly worse !!

It is comfortable and near the venue where we were

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Pleasing to the eye and clean.
Cons: Very satisfied.
Location: Insufficient time to do anything. Just made it to Jim Thompson for a 10 minutes shopping before proceeding to where we had to be.
Being my first time in Bangkok, your staff were pleasing and helpful. Will certainingly come back again.

Great stay in bangkok

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: They had a fabulous breakfast buffet that had something for every nationality!
We had a super stay here, maybe a little too short a time toget to know the area. We had a gorgeous room with a great view of the city. It was comfortable and the staff were very accomodating. We took taxis to get around. It wasnt far from the central dock to take a river trip, which we did in the morning. The afternoon we spent at the pool befor flying out. Great stop over.

Good Hotel and Location

Posted Feb 4, 2014
Pros: Good central location
Location: The BTS being near by made it easy to access a lot of the downtown area.
The hotel was very nice, I especially like the rooftop bar with a view and the close proximity to the BTS. I was able to travel around the central BKK area easily avoiding the traffic.

Close to the subway stn, good access to taxis

Pros: Central location, Spacious and clean rooms, Decent breakfast, Nice gym facilities. We were 2 adults with 2 teenage kids and it worked really well.
Cons: Breakfast options could be even better. Very limited TV channels in English.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The higher floors are generally better in terms of view - we were on the 34th floor. Breakfast buffet could've been better in terms of luncheon meats but otherwise, was fairly well stocked. The pool and gym are great but the weather was too cold for us to use the latter - would've been nice if they had a heated pool. We did not face major traffic problems as we were there in the first week of the New Year. However, we were told that the street - Sathorn - is extremely traffic ridden on normal working days and that we got lucky. So guests should be warned about that!

Nice hotel, good value

Posted Jan 19, 2014
Pros: Very nice hotel lobby area, great value for cost, especially with breakfast included, large suite/room.
Cons: The housekeeping was sub-par. The bathroom magnifying mirror was dirty on day 1 and stayed dirty for the entire 10 days. Spa was just a massage area.
Location: In a commercial area and a litte far from key siteseeing areas, but still not bad. Nothing to do within 7-8 blocks.
Not up to the Anantara experience at the Veli Maldives, but still a good value. We paid $102 per night for 10 days that included breakfast, and had a large suite with eating and sitting/TV areas and bedroom. The restaurants were a bit overpriced compared to city prices, but they had a special every night. The Spa was merely a nice massage area, but not a full-service spa area with showers and special treatment areas. Staff was very friendly but in 100 Degrees East, the service was spotty. I got my own coffee several times and dirty dishes were not picked up quickly. They did provide gluten-free bread every day for my wife, and that was great. The hotel area outside was created to provide a beautiful surrounding despite being in a commercial and developing area. We had to walk or cab it to get anywhere, but that was not a big deal. Overall, a very good value and experience, but not superior which we were expecting for an Anantara hotel and spa.

NYE Bangkok

Stayed here four nights over New Years Eve. The hotel is located in the business district, but it was easy to get a taxi and most of the sites were only about 10 minutes away. Nice pool, lounge, and rooftop bar.
