“Hotel with convenient location”

City Center Hotel, very convenient for business travellers. Would have appreaciated a variety in breakfast. Overall experience, quite good. Value for money

“decent”

I stayed for a week and twice got a taxi back to the hotel, and both knew where it was fine. Room was spacious although my window was completely taken up by a view of a wall which I was dissappointed with. Location is good, all the places I wanted to go to in Bangkok I was able to walk to, although they were a bit just a bit further than anticipated. Breakfast was a little sparse, however was enough to get you started. Staff was extremely friendly, the only annoying little thing was when you took the key out the holder the electricity went, so you had to reset like the clock each time you went in and out of your room, and I had one problem where the elecrticity didnt come back for about 2 hours which meant a few trips to reception, but it was sorted, and it was just the once. I would stay here again.

“Not impressed, much better alternatives in Bangkok”

The pictures of the room are certainly what the place looked like 20years ago when it opened, but are not very representative of the place today. It's pretty run down and I've seen better for the same price, with a better location. The staff are not very helpful, and their advertised internet works only in the lobby - not in the rooms

“Not bad, after finally working out the kinks”

As another reviewer wrote previously, the pics from the website are quite old. The hotel is a bit run down now since then, but still a good option for budget minded. The room I finally got was super dark, super quiet (no window) and good AC. The shower leaves something to be desired, The hotel is all but impossible to find for almost all the taxi drivers, most kicked me out after finally giving up trying to find it, even after giving them a map provided by the hotel. Stick with the BTS, just a walk down the street. After finally getting my bearings, I really liked the location, near Siam Paragon, MBK and just a short ride on BTS to Silom. Khao San Road is a bit of a haul by taxi, if you need to visit there, go off-hours, not rush hour, by taxi. The people at the front desk are very nice and friendly, offering good advice, but came off a little incompetent at the check-in. It could have been just an especially busy day. Breakfast is nothing special, but eat all you want. I will probably be back, now that I know the area well enough, as long as I get the same room.

An old hotel in a 'very authentic Thai neighborhood'. Breakfast was good & complimentary beverages in lobby 24/7. Close to Siam region. Staff was very helpful!! Thankyou!!

“A plain old Bangkok hotel..”

The location of this hotel is fantastic if you want to experience the heart of Bangkok and not fork out a ton of cash for opulence. It's certainly not better than 2.5 stars by any means and if you want fancy this is not the place for you.. This is a classic Bangkok hotel, not some fancy ritzy thing and the amenities are in suit.. The Staff, the owner, the people around the immediate area are absolutely the nicest people you will ever meet. Everyone is full of smiles, honest and extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet is basically the same thing every day and tastes fine and the restaurant also has regular menu as well.. The other guest of the hotel were great too, lots of people from all corners of the world and a great blend of every day folk. If I ever went back to Bangkok I would consider staying here again.. However, I didn't like the city.. Might try Phuket next time..

“good for one night”

Dark loby and corridors. Old house, short roof disorganized and dusty furnitures. Water leakage in the bathroom. Little place in the dining room and very bad service.

“Absolutely deceving, nothing like the picture! DONT EVER STAY HERE!!!!!”

This hotel is totally different from the pictures.My taxi driver didn't even know where the hotel was, despite it being located in the city center. The condition of room is very poor, bed sheets are unclean with yellow marks, bath room leaks water on the floor when you have a shower making the floor wet. Worst of all the toilet sit is so close to the basin, that you have to sit sideways to fit in the bowl. No tissue int he room, not enough toilet paper, need to alwasy ask. Air condition takes a good 30 mins to get even silghtly cooler. TV is old and small. And my window faces a big flat brick wall. Feels like i'm in a high security prision cell.

“Never again”

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at the Diamond City Hotel. It was my first time in Thailand, I traveled out there with my business partner for 2 nights. We had to move room twice! As the photos they have on their site are VERY deceitful. What was really disappointing was that as a hotel they took more time and effort making their hotel loby and corridors look pretty than the actual guest rooms. Our first room wasnt anything we expected, the sheets looked like they'd been reused over and over again, furniture was old and chippy, bathroom was rusty, mirrors were stained and filthy with unpleasant stench. I complained and got asked to be moved to bedroom that was in the images they advertised. Even more disappointing, it had all the same horrible qualities as the first room only difference was it was small and had no window but drapes. I don't know how that makes sense. So we complained a second time and asked for the best room they had. The 3rd room was ok but paid for the upgrade, it was bigger but wasn't the greatest. The view from the balcony wasn't amazing, our bath constantly leaked every time we used it and left the bathroom flooded with a disgusting sewage smell. Which we complained about and they did nothing about. Every time we ordered room service off the menu, what we wanted was never available. Staff were ok not helpful and were overbearing at times. If it wasn't cause I was only there for 2 nights, I think I would have left and checked in else where
