“Great, if you like a really firm bed!”

Overall, the hotel was great. Very friendly staff, clean rooms, great breakfast. My only two complaints were that the beds were really firm, and the walk from the sky train is through a slightly sketchy area.

“Bangkok FuramaXclusive Asoke”

Very nice, modern hotel that was very reasonably priced with a very good breakfast. A 1/2 km walk to the Skytrain and the underground metro. Good quality wireless Internet and the TV had a number of English language channels. Also the desk staff and restaurant staff all spoke English.

Area recommendations

The Asoke district was very nice with lots of local shops and street vendors. A very short Skytrain rise to Siam district for more restaurants and large store shopping.

“Impressssssssssssive”

The place was great. Why?...Well. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean. The breakfast was awesome and the roomservice after 11pm had some good cheap stuff on the menu. The location was very central having the underground, mono-rail, buses, taxi's, motorbike's all around. It has a varied and entertaining nightlife within walking distance. For families maybe its okay..there is a lady that can sort out any tours you may be interested in in the front office. The hotel also has a happy hour, pool and gym that I used rarely but was nice to know it was around. From now on this is the only place I will stay in Bangkok

“Good place for business travellers”

I often use this hotel for my business trip. The hotel is not big, but well maintained and staff is well trained and friendly. There is interchange station for both Skytrain and Subway within 3 min. walking distance.

“Location not Ideal”

Not close to the shopping belt of Platinium, Siam Paragon or MBK but hotel is 5min walk to Asoke BTS station. Small hotel, breakfast was okay, room not carpeted and of reasonable size. Internet access is not free but I managed to convince the reception staff on duty that I only need access for flight check-in which takes about 5-10 mins and therefore able to use it for free.

Area recommendations

Short weekend getaway for some food and shopping. - Scala@Siam Paragon for high end sharks fins soup, birds' nest with coconut soup or Chinatown with rows and rows of reasonable priced varieties. - several other good Thai restaurants in Siam Paragon - Try reasonably priced duck noodles and the best red ruby dessert (chestnut, You and Mee Noodle restaurant at basement of Grand Hyatt Erawan - Shopping @Platinium Mall for aircond comfort wholesale shopping, CentralWorld, Pratunum, Siam Paragon, Robinson Dept Store, MBK, Chatuchak Market - fashionable belts of any shape, size, color, material are a steal

“Would go back for sure”

We stayed 13 nights at the FuramaXclusive; from check-in to check-out, we were very pleased with the staff, hotel and location. Any questions or problems, from internet help to smaller plllows, were quickly attended to by the staff. The included breakfast was delicious, with many well prepared choices. Be sure to try the homemade yoghurt after you've had some of the great Thai choices. Location to sky train or underground just a very short walk, taxis 40-60 bhats to the various malls, although could be 100 if heavy traffic times. A great cafe, (Cafe Nero/Black Canyon) with coffee to equal the best in Seattle or Portland, also try their french fries, turn right out of the hotel, about a two minute walk, on the way to the sky train.

Area recommendations

I don't know any other neighborhoods in Bangkok, but these two (over 75 year old women) certainly felt comfortable walking around the area near our hotel.

Getting there

We went with the Japan Airlines flights and have only good things to say about the flight, food and cabin attendants. HOWEVER, the website does not allow you to get seats or a boarding pass if you are flying economy, you must do this as you check in! The website did not have a phone number to get human help, except on Tokyo time and it's not 24/7. I had an Expedia agent try to help me and they had the same problems. I would not fly JAL again, until this is changed, it's just too stressful not having seats or a boarding pass in an unfamiliar, foreign airport. Also, a small thing, but when boarding, it's not done in any systematic way, ex. back to front, everyone just goes forward at once so aisles get blocked etc.
