Great location with easy access to BTS (Chidlom)

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Location and the convenience it brought.
Cons: Coldness of pool.
Location: Chatuchak is about 15minutes away by BTS. Walkable distance to Platinum Mall (maybe 15-20mins).
I traveled with my husband and 2.5yr old kid. The location is great - Esp important when we are traveling with a young child. It took us 3 minutes to get to the BTS station from the hotel, with ramps and some small stairs to tackle - We brought our stroller and overall it was quite easy with it. There is good Thai food (Nara Thai or street food to the right of hotel), supermarket, shopping (take the BTS down to Siam station) and massage all around the vicinity. I found the price we paid was rather expensive for Thai standards imho. The room was clean, pleasant looking but for that amount of money - I wish the room was a little bigger perhaps and a little more luxe? But I suppose, in our case, we really paid for the convenience. If I wasn't traveling with a kid, I would be happy to pay a much lower price for a little less convenience elsewhere. The staff were great and always happy to help, and were friendly with my child. Like most other people who used the pool, my husband and child found it to be too cold and we had to take our child out of the food earlier than he preferred because his lips were turning blue.

Perfect hotel for shopping in Bangkok

Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Clean, good-sized rooms, New and well-maintained, efficient staff
Location: BTS Chidlom and bridge connecting malls in Rachaprasong is within 2 mins walk, 24hr MacDonald's at Amarin Centre
This is my first time staying in a Renaissance hotel and it has been nothing short of fantastic! The location of the hotel is extremely ideal for those whose main aim is to shop while in Bangkok as the BTS Chidlom station is located just in front of the hotel (the hotel is recessed in from the main road, so the walk to BTS is approx short 2 mins walk out). The bridge linking the Rachaprasong area to the various malls like Central World, Siam Paragon is also located at the BTS station so it is very convenient to mall hop without having to worry about rain. The Central Chidlom and latest Central Embassy malls are within 5-7 mins walk from hotel. Staff at the hotel were professional, warm, friendly and efficient. The room is good sized, clean and comfortable. Being a frequent traveller to Bangkok, I would definitely stay at the Renaissance Bangkok the next time I return.

Excellent hotel in the extravagant end of BK

Pros: Club Lounge Access In Hotel Restaurants
Cons: Ipod/MP3 connection like other Renaissance hotels i've stayed in.
Location: Chit Lom Station, Many Shopping centers, Jim Thompsons House
I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. I went for the club lounge experience which was amazing. A wide range of tasty treats and drinks available which helps keep the cost of a holiday lower, whilst still really enjoying yourself. Whether that;s a nice little desert or a cocktail. The staff in the lounge are really good also. The room was moderate in size, comparable to the Renaissance in Hollywood & Highland. Large marble bath with glass walls and blinds for privacy. Cable TV. No Ipod dock though. It's in a great part of town , with many malls near by which obviously offers you a lot of entertainment and dining options, however due to the one way road system, access to and from the hotel can be a little slow if traffic is high. So add 5 minutes to most journeys. Minor criticism really. Theres a rail station pretty much outside the hotel station "chit lom", although coverage across the city is quite limited for most of the sites, so you'll prob have to take a tuk-tuk/taxi.
