Great location for dental touristsPosted May 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
Great hotel just minutes from the dental hospital for those who are there for treatment. Good location with plenty of restaurants. Would definitely stay there again.

Clean, large room - awesome breakfast + friendlyPosted Apr 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
Save your hard earned, and stay here for the fraction of other Bangkok hotels. Around 10 minutes and a $10 taxi fare take you to all of the action that Bangkok has to offer. The rooms here are over-sized, clean, and exceptionally comfortable. The staff are friendly and their services are top notch. The free American style/ Thai style breakfast which was included in the room price was awesome There are five star places that I have stayed in which have not been close to the Salil in terms of range, taste, and freshness of the foods provided. Do yourself and your wallet a favor.

Hotel far from International airportPosted Apr 12, 2014
Either Expedia or one of the reviews misled me to believe that this hotel is closed by International airport...actually it takes 45min - 1 hour one way

Charming, traditional smaller hotel in SukhumvitPosted Oct 4, 2013
Pros: Lovely decor, indoor and outside - lovely pastel colours. Staff helpful when we had difficulty with a subsequent booking.
Location: Was a bit off the main centre, compared to our other hotels, but plenty of local cafes, massage and easy to get taxi/tuk tuk
Small, but charming rooms, with balcony. Lovely pool and restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff.

A great place to land after a long flight!Posted Aug 25, 2013
Pros: Clean, tidy, friendly staff, great décor, good location, excellent price, quiet, convenient location. Wi-Fi worked flawlessly.
Cons: Having a chair with a back, rather than a stool to sit on would have been nice.
Location: Close to skytrain, close to a supermarket and restaurants.
I booked this hotel on the recommendation from a local resident and was very grateful that I did. There was no issue with booking and checking in, the staff helped haul my bags up the 4 flights of stairs, and they politely responded to every inquiry I had. They even came to my room to help teach me how to make a phone call! The water pressure was a bit low in the shower, and the temperature was a bit low for my liking (I didn't realise that each room has it's own water heater and I could have adjusted it myself). The room was very clean - even in the corners, and had great a/c, too. The room was pretty small, and might be a bit cramped for a couple with lots of stuff. The section of the hotel I stayed in did not have an elevator. I'm not sure if the other sections did - you might want to check, in case you have some limited abilities. The restaurant food was nothing to write home about, but the room service was very prompt. I would book in here again - for the price it's safe, clean, friendly and close to the skytrain, while being out of the typical touristy areas. (I would have uploaded photos but the Expedia site wouldn't let me!)

Quite a distance to BTSPosted May 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was allocated to a room in the old wing and the aircon was rather weak. Was disappointed that there is no complimentary toothbrush. The breakfast buffet was good though and has a modest spread of bread, eggs, ham, sausage, rice, noodle, a meat and vegetable dish, porridge, miso soup, salad, fruits and yoghurt. Location-wise, it is not that fantastic but compensated by the complimentary hotel tuk tuk that transports us to the BTS upon request.

Nice placePosted May 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
First off. The bad - rooms were a bit small. The rest. Staff was eventually nice. Originally we were told we could only eat the bread/cereal portion if the breakfast. But after we mentioned something the next day, we were set. We mentioned this to the counter staff. And she took us to the breakfast counter and made sure we got both lines. FYI- the breakfast is in 2 areas. One area has bread, cereal and drinks. The other has eggs and all the good stuff. I think the first day was a miscommunication. Location: Great. Right next to good street food. Right next to thong lo bts train stop. Well, a 7 minute walk- but they will take you there for free as often as you want via a little tuk tuk. Which is nice. We just took the bts everywhere And that was nice. And there is also a post office near by. The area is not super touristy which was great. I was a bit worried about the location because it appeared to be far from the action, but it ended up being great. We thought our room was a bit small, but it was in great shape. Our room did not have a window. At first we were disappointed, but after being super jet lagged it was a blessing in disguise. From the time we left our house to the time we got to the hotel it was: 28 hours and a 12 hour flip. So 8 am there was really 8pm our time.

Very nice staff with a very nice breakfast included with our room. We would stay there again although there is one caveat. They allow smoking in some rooms which is close enough to where we stayed that the smell of smoke sometimes came into our room and was often very strong in the corridor.

Looks can be deceiving.Posted Jan 2, 2013
Pros: Interesting design.
Cons: You need to order the "complementary" water from downstairs. If you drink the stuff in your room you will be charged.
Location: Rather sketchy soi. Close to BTS station.
Our hotel room was a lot smaller than it appeared online. The staff at the breakfast buffet were less than competent. The hotel is located down a rather sketchy soi. There is a small "massage" parlour on the same street.
