Great LocationPosted Oct 22, 2013
Pros: The Thai massage downstairs is well wort 30 baht, not for the fainthearted though, this is proper Thai massage, not like the poncy stuff you get in UK
Cons: Some of the rooms are looking a bit worn but the hotel is in the process of upgrading the rooms.
Location: Nice restaurant at end of Soi 20, "The Siam House", staff are friendly and the food is good and cheap.
Stayed at Silom City Hotel many times and we love it. Staff are helpful and efficient, housekeeping are great and the location is perfect.

Good value for your moneyPosted Oct 10, 2013
Pros: Comfortable big rooms. Big balcony.
Cons: Hotel is dated but well maintained.
Location: Pretty good location. morning and evening markets right out the front door. relatively close to the river for access to river taxi.
We stayed in a Deluxe suite. The price was very reasonable. Room was quite large and had a kitchenette (although no dinner ware or cooking appliances were available). With the morning market right out the front door we could have easily made our own meals. Breakfast was included and was pretty good. The hotel was a little dated but clean. We had a balcony with a very nice view of the surrounding city. There is not to see within walking distance and places to get western food are not close by, but if you like Thai food there is a lot street food venders and small eateries. The hotel is relatively close to the river and access to water taxies so site seeing to many temples, the palace and golden pagoda and floating market is quite easy.

Hotel overall is fine, but it quite far to the btsPosted Oct 3, 2013
Pros: At least , the bell boy and others staff are good.
Cons: Yes, I think the free breakfast is lack of variety, and end too early. If there is free transport to feed guest to the Mrt Station will be good.
Location: Nothing to do much, but I went to the Tamil temple to pray and I like it.
I had stay 6 nights at this hotel, every day , they provide 2 bottles of drinking water, which is good. Only one thing I dislike is the guy receptionist at the counter which check on me, he seems to be too cold to the customer, maybe , he got some personal problems. I do not like to keep the key to the front desk. If the hotel provides a digital safe for guest , it will be good. My room 0409 safe is spoilt.

Great Staff, Great LocationPosted Aug 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Silom City Hotel staff was incredible and the hotel itself was conveniently located in the tourist area of Bangkok that allowed us to strategically visit important locations such as Wat Aru and the Grand Palace. The staff was so friendly that we decided to cancel our hotel reservations at a hotel near the airport and return to Silom City Hotel for our return to Bangkok before catching our flight home.

Overall, quite good.Posted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: The location
Cons: The room had seen better days, the wi-fi was pretty terrible, the room lacked sufficient power outlets
Location: Really wonderful, close to the Sky Bar, Patpong Night Market, and all kinds of great places to eat.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. On the one hand, it's an old-fashioned full service hotel with many helpful staff, quite the fancy feel about it. On the other, it's seen better days and had quite a few flaws. The room would have been wonderful when new, but the carpets are worn and stained, the TV old, and there's a bizarre lack of power outlets. The wi-fi was the worst of the 4 hotels in Thailand we experienced, with an irritating redirect log-in system rather than just letting us log into the wireless router like normal. It was constantly requiring us to log in again, and was often slow to the point of being unusable. The head receptionist seemed a trifle condescending, though all the other staff were great. The location is great, lots of attractions within walking distance, real thai restaurants frequented by locals just a street across in the fresh food market, delicious grilled frogs from the street vendor right outside the hotel, and many fancier places in the area. Overall I can't say we were truly disappointed by the hotel, which does seem luxurious for the price, but I would be remiss not to mention that it was the least pleasant room we had in our 2 week Thailand trip.

clean room in the silom area - simple, but goodPosted Aug 2, 2013
Pros: cleanliness, location, price
Cons: breakfast could have been better, but I only tried it once
Location: close to sky train, many restaurants, massage parlors, stores/malls, river
stayed for one night before a bangkok departure. the hotel is set back a block off of silom rd and you can walk around the area very easily

Acceptable, but not a great valuePosted Aug 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is fine for a 2-3 star hotel, but I think it's possible to find a nicer hotel for the same price. It's in a good location to feel local bangkok- a little far from touristy areas, but not too far.
