“Great New Hotel”

If you are looking for a very good hotel in Bangkok at a very good price - this is the place. The Sivatel is a brand new hotel located about 100 m from a sky train station in Bangkok's downtown on embassy row (across the street from the British Embassy). What's Good Big rooms Everything is new and clean Flat screen TVs (yes plural) in each room with Apple TV providing full internet access A staff that is eager to please Location - One sky train stop from the start of the main shopping area What Needs Work The staff (they are eager, but don't quite have the polish of a true 5-star) The location - it is central but there are equally nice hotels closer or right in the shopping district (of course they cost a lot more) If you want to visit Bangkok's temples or China town - take a taxi - it will cost you $2-4 dollars - get the hotel's address written out for you in Thai script, taxi drivers struggle to find this hotel as they don't know where it is yet.

“Very impressed”

I'll preface this review with this is my first stay in a 5 star hotel in Bangkok. Firstly, very close to the Sky Train station, couple of minutes walk. Also within walking distance of Suhkumvit Road and all its shopping, restaurants, entertainment, etc. The staff were the most courteous and friendly of any place i've ever stayed. The room was fantastic, very large, with 2 flat screen tvs with free internet, many tv channels, good hotel information, etc. The king size bed was one of the most comfortable ive ever slept in. Views were great. For a 5 star hotel, I'd consider the breakfast fairly poor - the fruit was not fresh, not a great selection, etc. Only one swimming pool, but a very nice one with great views from the 8th floor. Gym facilities only average, but did include sauna and steam room. Does not have a ground floor lobby area where you can relax like many other hotels. Overall, a very well priced and great place to stay, I'd definitely stay here again. Although next time I might try a competitor just to compare the expereince with the Sivatel.

“Best ever technical features in a hotel room”

The hotel offers rooms which are very spacious (separate living and bedroom, great bath room with nice bath tub which easily fits two), extremely well equipped with most recent technology features i.e. iTV, fastest internet connection I've ever seen in Thailand in a hotel, good selection of international and movie channels. The hotel is situated in walking distance to Sukhumvit Road, well connected to public transportation system and surrounded by plenty of attractive places to shop and enjoy the live after business. The restaurant offers a nice variety of dishes in the menu, however the breakfast buffet could offer some more variety, the gym and pool area on the 8th floor is very nice to relax and work out. The only negative thing, which really distracted me, is the very poorly maintained shower which offers two options - either you get boiled or frozen, apart from the fact that the water puring out of the shower is hardly enough to get wet.
