Very friendly and kindly staffs not only receptionist but housekeeping staff.
Very comfortable room.
Good location, walkable distance from BTS Prompong station.
Nice clean hotel with great staff in good location
Clean and quiet, in good location close to BTS. Lots of food choices nearby. We have stayed at St. James Hotel before a few times and will stay again.

Good at a price point.
Above average service and the rooms were very clean. The facilities are a bit dated and in need of a facelift. For the hotels “sale” price I paid (around $65) I would say it was about right facility speaking with better than that price point for service. If I had paid the purported full price ... north of $150 ... I would have been upset by the worn features. So, depends on the price being paid.

I actually liked that it was a bit of a smaller hotel, so it was pretty quiet. It's also very close to the Phrom Phong BTS, so the walk to the station wasn't too bad. The staff was very friendly and they made the room up at all hours of the day. Sometimes I would leave my room late in the day and ask for it to be made and I would come back and everything was done.
The only thing I really didn't like was the mattress. It was extremely hard. It didn't even feel like a mattress at all. My regular mattress at my house is a very firm mattress and the one at the hotel seemed even harder than the one I normally use. It felt like a very cheap mattress. The bedding was ok, but the mattress was horrible.
Everything else was great though. Would I stay at St. James again.... maybe, but I think there might be a slightly better hotel for the money that I paid. The bed is the most important part of the room...and well it feel short of expectations.
Good value hotel within easy walking distance of Sky Train which after one top links to MRT underground train line too. The walkway pavement is typical Bangkok (careful how you go) but there's always a taxi if unable to haul a suitcase. Good place to work in peace and enjoy the greenery of the garden too.
Everything very nice but restaurant staff brought out main meals before starters and my partner had almost finished before my starter was served.

older hotel. bed was way to hard. shower water temperature fluctuates. my real complaint is I had a late flight and asked for a late check out, I offered to pay extra but was told I would have to book an additional night. I realize this is standard for most hotels where you don't have status but this hotel was less than half full. they could of accommodated me. Other wise for the price on line 42.00 i shouldn't complain.
We love everything in the room. We booked superior room but seems like we got the deluxe room. Bed is very comfortable.
Only 2 things we don't like. It's the automatic toilet seat and the sour staffs.
While we were check in at the lobby a staff asked us "What time will you check out tomorrow?". hold on..........I was shocked for a second and thought "We haven't even gotten inside the room yet but they've already asked us when we are gonna check out???" I don't know if this is a normal question or not but we have been to over 30 hotels and nobody asked us like this before. So I felt like we were not welcome there. Staffs were sour and fake. I guess they expected to get tips because they looked happy in the beginning but when they found out that they were not gonna get tips they looked sour directly.

The question about the check out time is for helping guest to manage their time and staff can preparing thing to be ready when guest coming to check out. As per some guest check out very early.
Also many guest didn't know how is the traffic in Bangkok and how long it will take from the hotel to Airport. And we never expect anything but a happiness for guest to stay with us.
We do apologize for this inconvenience cause

Hotel ok but service could be improved
Location is convenient, facilities is basic, hotel a bit old but clean, sheets are clean but pillows a bit too soft.
This is a great hotel. The room is spacious & comfortable. The internet is fast. The neighborhood is fun, and has lots of great restaurants, massage places, as well as a lovely little park & giant mall. The BTS stops at the end of the block. Maybe the best in Bangkok for the price.

You get what you paid
Hotel is within walking distance from Phrom Pong station. Look for DoubleTree by Hilton then you will find this hotel. Along the way to hotel, it has a lot of eateries.
Not bad, Staff are friendly and wonderful, from counter, to cleaners to the assistant.
Hotel more suited for Jap tourists. English is a challenge for them. Rooms are ok, but some of the furniture are made of wood, hence they sound squeakish.
Also rooms may be near each other hence I can hear occasional sounds from room next door.
The hotel is not new but it is well maintenance, clean and comfy. the hotel staffs are very helpful and I have to give them a like for this.
location is near to Phrom Phong BTS, its about 7 to 8 minute walk.
Overall is good location and hotel. only 1 thing is the water heater.. hard to control the pressure and heat.
I would love to stay again.

location is good but not the hotel
Hotel is old - need to do a major renovation.
water pressure is bad - something hot and something too cold
tap not working too well
after 12 midnite call front office for extra pillow was told houskeeping close pls call the next day
it is about 30 to 45 mins away from the airport but it isn't in the city center which is great as I don't want too much craziness in BKK. It is 4 min walk to BTS and there are malls around me. The staff is very friendly and they speak great English. The breakfast is quite pricey so I didn't take the package and I won't recommend anybody to do it as you can eat on the street or outside for way cheaper price. The room is very big and comfortable. Again, this is not a 5 star hotel so there are some flaws but they didn't bother me. Everything worked for me while I was staying there.
Very friendly staffs and front desk. Clean Room and Clean Bed. An old style but spacious room with 100% well maintenance. The Housekeeping do an excellence job. Great location and 5 minutest to BTS. Recommended for short stay in Bangkok.
