“Not exactly the place to stay in Bangkok”
Some of the staff at the reception are not helpful, in fact borderline rude. The hotel suites are pretty nice, good internet, they give you a local SIM, tuk tuk to the train station, one day train pass, etc. - So the amenities are good. Location is OK. Overall, the location is not bad, but this hotel is tucked really inside a so-so residential area.
Arranging tours is a problem. The hotel staff only tried to push their own overpriced tours. They even refused to call other tour companies for us. Thankfully we booked something at the airport, and then booked something with the same company when they took us for a tour the first day. That is really unacceptable - the hotel refusing to book any other tour company, and offering such overpriced tours (double the normal price).
Housekeeping was a problem. They wouldn't clean our room on time. Gave us all kinds of excuses, again borderline rude. Wouldn't give us extra tea bags or creamers. that's really cheap. Its also difficult to go out and eat anything if you are tired - there is nothing within walking distance, and its not always convenient to take the tuk tuk and then take a train, or to take a cab. The hotel is not in an area where many restaurants are walking distance.
Bangkok, and thailand itself, were a bit disappointing.
Overall, I may not stay at tenface if I ever return to Bangkok. I would say it was below average - not horrible, but certainly not good.
