Hotel near public transportationPosted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: Pool and exercise room. Location.
Cons: Internet upgrade. Many people smoke and some rooms smell of smoke.
Rooms are rather dark. Internet is only free in the hotel lobby. Internet use in your room you need to pay. Breakfast is an extra cost. Old style elegance. Comfortable place to start with exploring Bangkok.

This hotel is amazing !!! Very hygiene!!! Staff always cleaning !!! Across the street from the shopping area!!! Very convenient!!! Breakfast buffet superb, and it caters both to Americans and westerners:) the only negative part is that this is my 4 stay and they don't honor that u are a repetitive customer for any free upgrade!

Good location.Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: Location, markets and night life. Fancy Japanese toilet, but didn't use "that" technological facility. First room didn't have it.
Cons: Modernise everything.
Location: Markets, shopping mall, bars, clubs, live music, sky train, park.
Very old furniture. Dull rooms. Changed rooms, same theme. Everything needs revamp, lobby, lifts, etc. corridors super clean and nice aromatic smell, also nicely lit. Nice garden, pool. Gym adequate, likely to have it to yourself. Very affordable for most (in September).

Well worth the money!Posted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, excelllent value for money
Cons: Nothing really. Staff were pleasant and courteous. So keep up the good work!
Location: In Patpong area, so visitors can easily go for the bars or the nightmarket or both. Also, close to so many eating places, including hawker stalls.
Location excellent; clean rooms, courteous staff. Aesthetically pleasing, beautiful wooden floors on each level. Pretty and spacious lobby. As you exit the lift to get to your bedroom, you are greeted by wonderfully polished wooden floors and a cosy sitting area adorned with classical furniture reminding you that you are in Thailand. A good experience and will stay again.

Have stay there once, was good.Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Near places I frequent and convenient.
Cons: Guess the night security should be train well to approach guest.
Location: Food and entertainment.
I like the friendliness of staffs there, but I particularly don't like the night security there, was rather rude as one of the night as I was going up the room with my room mate at about 2.30am, he just ran to me and approached me and asked me for my room nos, I just don't think the need to run and rush to me as if I am a criminal. Guess he should have a better approach.

Nice City Hotel, Nice Staffs and Nice People ArounPosted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: The hospitality of the staffs
Cons: There is no water jet or bidet in the toilet.
Location: Very near to pat pong night market (100 meter) 7-Eleven, Family Mart. Boots pharmacy is everywhere. Also BTS Sala Daeng about 15 minutes walk
I had stay in this hotel for 4 days, 3 nights. I can conclude that my stay in this hotel was amazing. Easy check-in. The room was nice. Very big bed, which can accomodate 3 adults. I stay in Superior room which facing back of the building. Nothing to see. The staffs greet you although they are not fluent in English. But their smile just enough for me. The bell boy was good. We did ask for directions to Muslim Restaurant and he did gave us the precis directions. Upon check out, we request for late check out. They allowed us to check out at 2 p.m. If you wish to extend your stay until 6 p.m you need to pay 1500 TB. Overall about the hotel; Old but well maintained hotel, great staffs, easy to walk around

Overdue refurbishmentPosted Aug 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
I've stayed at The Tawana (under its various ownerships) for the last 20 years. In that time, the place has seen very little money being invested in features or facilities. The rooms are drab and desperately in need of refurbishment - carpets are stained and thread-bare, baths are chipped and stained, shower-curtains are mouldy and stained, bedside entertainment consul was broken as was the corner standard lamp and the in-room literature (menus etc) are so out of date - they are useless to guests. A once "Grand Old Lady" of an hotel is now showing neglect and impoverishment. Front Counter staff will gleefully ignore guest enquiries if they can get away with it - most disappointing. Coffee Shop staff are difficult to find after 7:30pm
