“It's a Holiday Inn!”

Not what I was expecting for a Holiday Inn. It was very clean and service was quick. It is right off the highway which is pretty convenient.

“Nice hotel, poor restaurant service”

This is a typical Holiday Inn for its age. It is clean and comfortable. Stay away from the restaurant. The food is overpriced and not that good. You will be lucky if the restaurant staff comes out to take your order. They spend the majority of the time in the back gossiping. The rest of the staff is friendly and attentive. Breakfast is not included with the room.

“We thought it was a great place for our pet.”

I did not know what to think of this place when it said it was undergoing renovations. The renovations were up on the third floor and I never heard them. We stayed on the bottom and the second floor. We booked this hotel through expedia twice( once going and coming back). After the horrible stay at another place I was never so happy to see a hotel in my life. The renovations to the rooms are wonderful and the place is very clean. We ate at the resturant and the pub. Both places were wonderful but they had big portion sizes. Too much food for me. We brought our dog. They gave her treats when she came in and had a area in the back nice an lite for her outings with garabage recepticals. Wish everyone used it. We could hear things in the hall which fightend her a bit. This was mostly children, other dogs and the construction workers who were partying one night to hard. The service though to resolve this was great. Just be careful if you get ajoining rooms you can hear the other people clearly. The renovations to the bathroom were so good I even had a bath. The beds were comfortable and they had different pillows for what you wanted hard or soft. With extra in the closet area. They had a flat screen and playstation, We will defintely be back next time.

Area recommendations

The area you should see is exit 184 where the mall and the other shopping areas are. There are also some great resturants there. We went to Longhorn and loved the food.

What to pack

Bathing suit. Light clothes for bed because the duvet is warm.

Shopping

Go to Target, Khols, AE craft store, Dollar Tree great deals there, the mall but their is better shopping in Portland or Freeport which is only a hour and half away.

Dining

Go to Longhorn. Was a little pricey but great food. I loved my steak done to perfection.

“relaxing wedding weekend in Maine”

Thought everything at this hotel was excellent. Seems like it had recently been done over, rooms etc. I would recommend to anyone having to be in the area, and the restaurant was good also. There was even a Dunkin Dounut next door! There was a Gold Gym also if you wanted to use with a pass from Hotel.

“Great hotel. Repeat customer.”

I have stayed here a few different times in the past few years. I really like the fact that it has a pool/spa, and food on site. I did not notice any construction debris, or noise, as another patron stated. It was very clean and tidy when we visited.

Room was OK, corridor carpet was not very good (old, kind of dirty), samething with elevator; we were accommodated in a wing in which some rooms were undergoing renovation.

“I've stayed at nicer hotels for a lot more money”

Went to Bangor to see the fall colors, and the maple tree in the center courtyard was the most brilliant red that I saw the whole time I was there.

Area recommendations

Bangor is a rather unexciting city, but it is a great place to day trip from. The surrounding countryside is beautiful at any time of the year.

Outdoors or beach

From Acadia National Park on the coastal islands, to the quaint coastal towns, to Baxter State park and Mt Katahdin, to more lakes than you can count, all are within an easy drive.
