“Clean and relaxing”

Not a bad stay if you HAVE to go to northern Maine.

Area recommendations

Bar Harbor. About 1 Hour away. Unreal scenery when in season during summer months.

“Comfortable Hotel”

The room was comfortable, nice bedding, good size, great view (floor 7). The only suggestion I have would be to work on better water pressure in the shower. The lobby and slot floor areas are clean and the staff is very pleasant. I can't recommend the breakfast buffet... rather boring, food bland, just nothing special.. Overall a good hotel; will stay again.

“Nice Room”

Our room was very comfortable, quiet and clean. The only complaint - no food service in the bar. We were watching a football game in the bar, and had to leave to get a snack.

“Very Good Room - Food Pretty Bad”

Hotel was very nice. Dinner buffet was gross. Breakfast was OK. Wait staff was very good.

Bangor was very depressed. This hotel was along the river which was OK but a homeless shelter up the street kept the neighborhood in rough shape.

“Really Nice Place”

My wife and i stayed for only one night and the hotel is Great But.... If you have a family or are not interested in slots this may not be the place for you. The Hotel is VERY clean and comfortable but really the only thing to do there is slots.. The buffet is great and the Staff is GREAT... So if you like slots than you wont find a nicer hotel.

“front desk staff in the hotel could be improved”

The hotel is nice, very nice rooms comfy bed. A bit pricey for the lack of amenities you would except for that price range. Do not go to the buffet shortly before they close for the night! Poor selection, most food had obviously been there for hours, staff was pulling cold foods before we plated. The $ has increased. $36 for 2 (last year was $13 pp), too much $ for what you get. The snack bar was really busy and smelled great, would recommend that. The Atmosphere @ the bar is really nice and it's open late! The front desk staff was the down side. I called several times to get a price for the same night, got three different rates for the same room type. Plus the last time I called they told me they were sold out for the night on that type room. I got on Expedia and booked the room type they said they were sold out of for $30 less (2 hours before I checked in). The front desk told the gentlemen next to me at check in they were sold out, I told him to try Expedia. The lady at the desk then said I was the reason they were over booked! Of course this did not go over well with the man beside me. (Nothing like throwing your paying customer under the bus!). 2 days after check OUT they are still holding my credit card for incidentals (there were none). After I called to complain I was told it often takes 3-4 days to take the hold off. No apology or concern. I find this unexceptable. We stay at lots of hotels & resorts and this has NEVER once been an issue with any other place.

“We will be going back real soon”

the only problem we had was a $250.00 room damage deposit or $50.00 on a credit card and we did not have a credit card with 0 balance on it. we did get our money back upon check-out, all in all we will be going back..
