“Connected to Bankstown Sports Club!”

A great place to stay as it is part of Bankstown Sports Club. The club offers great food and entertainment. It was a wonderful place to hold a reunion with friends.

“Long way from the city, but great hotel”

We stayed here at New Years because the city hotels were too expensive at that time. We couldn't fault the hotel. It was clean and spacious. Hotel staff were very nice. The only problem it was so far from the city, although we knew that when we booked. It's right on the Bankstown railway station so getting in the city was easy - just took 45mins. If the hotel was in the CBD it would have been perfect.

“Very Clean but Not Suitable for Practicing Muslims”

Travelodge Bankstown shares its reception area and "lobby" with Bankstown Community Sports Club which has poker machines right smack at the entrance. The hotel reception is beside the club's reception. We were stopped twice by club staff asking for our Travelodge key as identification that we are hotel guests and not gaming clients. It was very uncomfortable to be stopped like that when we are paying hotel guests. It is understandable that they need to identify people, but Travelodge hotel should've warned us as much as we're told how to use the key card to operate the lifts. I wonder if being Muslim and covered had anything to do with the staff stopping us twice despite the fact that they saw us coming from the hotel's reception area. I won't recommend this hotel to Muslims as it is very uncomfortable walking thru gaming machines and smelling alcohol in the lobby. It was in this hotel or in its shared area with the club, that whilst walking through the restaurants to take my daughter to Monkey Mania, an indoor play area in the hotel, that a man sitting and drinking his beer told me - in a loud voice - "You look awful! Why do you have to cover your face like that? You don't belong here! You go back to where you came from! You look awful!". It was very frustrating to say the least. I didn't have to pay a hotel, use its facilities and be bullied by its not-so-sober patrons.

“Good rooms, nice facility!”

Excellent hotel. Its located at the bankstown sports club so downstair there is a large gaming room, pool tables and heaps of amazing restaurants. The only downside is it takes about 1hour on the train to the city stopping at every stations.

“Comfortable”

Our room was more than adequate for our stay. Very clean and comfortable and the bed was great. Nice thick fluffy towels in the bathroom. We were amazed at how there was no noise transferrence from the corridors or adjacent rooms. However the plant noise outside was a bit distracting - thank goodness the windows were double-glazed, otherwise it could have been a serious issue come sleep time. The food in the downstairs eatery (in the Sports Club) was not up to our standards and, we thought, overpriced for what was essentially 'club food'. But the restaurant was extremely popular and it was difficult to find a spare table so they must be doing something right. On our second night we ate at a nearby Vietnamese restaurant, and had a sensational meal for half what we paid the previous night. All in all, a pleasant stay and we would certainly go back there if we needed accommodation in that area.

“Fine if the rates in CBD are high”

A hotel situated about 30 minutes from Sydney CBD and about an equal distance from the airport (domestic/ international). The hotel is located inside the Bankstown Sports Complex. So all your eatables are easily available. A pizza hut and subway too is located nearby. Our room ac was not effective. The hotel charges 50$ as deposit and they came to check whether we had smoked in our rooms (luckily we are non-smokers). We then learnt that those who smoke would be charged 50$. So smokers, if any watch out and u may want to check up with the management before hand. To get to the airport is bit of a pain as onbe has to go to Padstwo station (15 $ by taxi) and then catch the airport line. Howe ever, for going to the CBD the Bankstown station is only 23 minutes away. Overall a satisfactory hotel

“Unusual idea of a hotel but it worked out well”

A bit different..the hotel is built on top of a casino complex, so you enter this private "club" and the travelodge has its own reception. Then through the complex to lifts which take you up to the room. Room was fine - standard Travelodge, although I like it had a small kitchen area (hotplates/microwave/kettle/toaster etc). So, heading back down in the lift and you get access to the casino complex place. There's a big atrium with rainforest plants, and a space used for dancing and music. There's a mini indoor italian plaza, chinese restaurant, and bistro with train carriage dinning. Food was good in the italian and chinese. Breakfast was not included, but could be had from a coffee and sandwich outlet (lack of fresh fruit was disappointment). Overall, if I needed to go to Bankstown, I'd go back. Bankstown itself has a few restaurants but the complex was a good offering and really convenient. Hotel doesn't have a pool or gym though, but does free parking, and there is free wifi in the complex downstairs.
