Well located for easy and short drive to Dresden. Good place to relax after sight seeing. Pillows not firm but this is a Europe wide challenge!

A quiet retreat

This was a very pleasant place to stay. It was quiet and very restful but at the same time, conveniently close to the city. The room was comfortable, well appointed and certainly big enough to move around in. Breakfast was a real treat, with wonderful fresh rolls and homemade jam, eggs from the farm and special cakes. Good coffee, too! We found it was a perfect spot for exploring the Dresden area.

Great place to stop for a visit to Dreden

Pros: Lovely gardens, well appointed rooms and good breakfast
Location: Nice rural area, but close enough to Dresden by cycle or bus.
Directions to the pension were clear and it is signed from the main road. On arrival we were impressed by the lovely gardens and Mr Bauer came out and offered assistance with the luggage and showed us to our room. The room was bright, and well furnished with a large spot less bathroom. Breakfast gave a good choices of cereals, fruit juices, yoghurt, boiled eggs, meats, cheeses and jams, with fresh coffee and tea. We planned to use public transport and Mrs Bauer had timetables for the the bus into ( 360) Dresden and the stop is 10 minutes away. She explained how we could buy tickets from the driver and how to get the all day travel ticket. The bus frequency reduces in the evening but there is also another bus No 66 Mockritz which goes from the central station same stop as 360, but you get off in Bannerwitz Strasse just after the Opel/Chev car dealership and walk up the hill so it takes about 15minutes. There is a nice restaurant about 15-20 minutes walk down into the village. Mr and Mrs Bauer are really lovely people and we enjoyed their hospitality and our language limitations presented no difficulty whatsoever, in fact it enhanced or visit. We enjoyed our three night stop and Dresden is such a lovely city, but having such welcoming hosts and comfortable accomodation was really appreciated.
