“An enjoyable few days”

I stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and 2-year-old on, and found this hotel really handy for our visit to Downeast Maine. The room was great. Clean, fairly spacious and a big bathroom. The breakfast was also pretty good - although somewhat bizarrely, it included the distribution of pocket mints every morning. We also used the swimming pool, although as other reviewers have noted, it isn't huge. On midweek nights in May, there wasn't much demand, but I suspect it will get busy later in the season. Ellsworth isn't huge, but the Hampton Inn is pretty close to any local restaurants, and there is a pharmacy and supermarket opposite as well. Bar Harbor is about 20 minutes drive away.

Great Stay! I wish I could have used the pool one more time before I left in the morning, but I guess it can't always be open. I would definitely come back if in the area.

My husband and I traveled to the area for a funeral. I chose this hotel because I have a hard time getting a restful night sleep if I feel that the hotel is not clean. I slept as if I was at home.

Very clean. Room is nice and big. Nice to see just a shower stall and no tub...after all, who takes a bath at a hotel? Bed linens were comfortable, but the bed was on the firm side. Loved the availability of hot water/coffee near the front desk. The staff was very pleasant and helpful...always smiling and cheerful (especially Ms Boisvert in the dining area). Glad to have "free" wifi. Would have liked some movie options on the TV. Used the pool and hot tub, which were clean. Exercise room good, but couldn't figure out how to turn on the treadmill. Would stay here again.

“Great Deal if you're looking for convenient locations”

Everything was great about this hotel. It's located in a highly commercial area though so there is no 'scenery' or outdoor amenities. If you're looking for something convenient to this location though you won't beat the amenities for this price. Site says 'continental breakfast' but it was much better than that. Plus, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, fresh apples in the lobby all day (and sometimes cookies, but they don't last long!)
