“Small muffin”
Excelent hotel. I'll go there again. The only disadvantage is : poor berakfast and small kitchen.
“Not luxury but always clean.”
The room was very quiet with no noticeable traffic noise, fairly spacious and tidy. Bathroom was always clean and the grounds were clean and easily accessible off Route 1 and within easy access to many of the restaurants and grocery stores in the Ellsworth area including Acadia National Park. It's not luxury but it's was always clean, reliable, and excellent value for the money. The American owners/couple were very friendly and helpful.
“Good for what you are paying”
Cute little cottage, comfy queen bed, clean towels, hot and cold water, very polite owners. The electric room heater was working but could have been a little more powerful. Liked the close proximity to Acadia National Park. A less than 5 min drive from the center of Ellsworth. The owners also offer muffins and coffee for a free breakfast. If all you need is a clean bed and a hot shower, then this is a good place for your money.
“Nice home motel”
The owner are very nice. Wifi service only available in the office.
“Take a candle with you when you go”
Convenient internet booking; easy location; good price (at least around that area); very nice owner; very good cleaning service. But there was one thing that I couldn't stand there: the smell!!! It was an old cottage, and I bet the owner kept the room as clean as it can be. But that very pungent smell of an old place, probably mixed with something else was the first impression I got into the room. We opened the window and turned on the AC, but couldn't help smelling it the whole night. The next day we bought a candle from Walmart and that solved our problem. Other than that smell, I have no complaint about the place. The owner is a real nice person to talk to.
“Poor condition, clean enough with excellent amenities”
Unless the room conditions is upgraded, I can't recommend this hotel. Although, I like its amenities such as internet connection, fridge, microwave, ac and breakfast.
“It's a good way to ruin your vacation.”
I'm glad I spend there only one night. It was a dirty little room with uncomfortable bad and nasty shower. I would not recommend this room to my friends or family.
“BULLDOZER READY !!!!! WAY PAST DEAD !!!!!!”
Nice folks run this dump, and the location is fine, price is cheap, and the room was fairly clean. HOWEVER.....this joint should be torn down. Badly advertised. No AC, no restaurant, no wake-up service (no phone), no "security" (bathroom window, ground floor, overlooking the woods, has NEVER had a lock mechanism on it !!!!.....all were advertised as existing. Too many years have passed without any significant effort to maintain this property. We're not fussy. We'll accept "funky", old style simplicity. This place was just plain worn out. Worst accommodations we've ever rented !!!!! Entire cottage sloping in one direction, I assume from rotting floor supports, although bed sloped in the other direction. Heard enough????? STAY AWAY AT ANY PRICE.......BETTER TO SLEEP IN YOUR CAR !!!!!!
“If this isn't the Bates Motel - I don't know what is”
The hotel looked completely different in person. It was a complete mess. The hotel has got to be the worst that I have ever stayed in in my life. After a 6 hour drive it was not what I wanted. Completed trashed - horrible reception area. Filthy strange check in person. Room was trashed. Door was about ready to fall off. 7 or so stains on the ceilining. Moldy bathroom. I started feeling sick and had to leave right away for a different place
